Cautions with other medicines
Do not take adalimumab with medicines that can increase the risk of serious infections, including:
- live vaccinations – some vaccines use live viruses. These include the BCG (tuberculosis) vaccine, the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine, the rotavirus vaccine and the children's nasal spray flu vaccine. If you need a vaccine always check with your doctor or pharmacist whether it is suitable for you
- abatacept, a medicine to treat autoimmune diseases
- anakinra, a medicine to treat rheumatoid arthritis
Mixing adalimumab with herbal remedies and supplements
There's not enough information to say that herbal remedies or supplements are safe to take with adalimumab. They're not tested in the same way as pharmacy and prescription medicines. They're generally not tested for the effect they have on other medicines.
Important: Medicine safety
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you're taking any other medicines, including herbal remedies, vitamins or supplements.
