Cautions with other medicines
It's usually safe to use carmellose sodium eye drops with other medicines.
Some medicines, such as antihistamines, antidepressants and diuretics (medicines that remove extra fluid from your body), can make your eyes dry.
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you're taking any medicines that you think might be causing you to get dry eyes. They may be able to suggest changes to your medicine to help with this.
Mixing carmellose sodium eye drops with herbal remedies or supplements
There's not much information about taking herbal remedies and supplements with carmellose sodium eye drops. However, very little, if any, carmellose sodium gets into your body from the eyes, so you're unlikely to have problems.
Some herbal remedies or supplements can make your eyes dry. Speak to your pharmacist or doctor if you think this could be a cause of your dry eyes.
Important: Medicine safety
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you're taking any other medicines, including herbal remedies, vitamins or supplements.
