Cautions with other medicines
There are some medicines that do not mix well with co-amoxiclav.
Tell your doctor if you're taking any of these medicines before you start taking co-amoxiclav:
- allopurinol or probenecid, used to treat gout
- warfarin, a medicine that helps to prevent blood clots
- methotrexate, used to treat cancer or rheumatic diseases
- mycophenolate mofetil, used to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs
Mixing co-amoxiclav with herbal remedies or supplements
There's not enough information to say that complementary medicines, herbal remedies and supplements are safe to take with co-amoxiclav. They're not tested in the same way as pharmacy and prescription medicines. They're generally not tested for the effect they have on other medicines.
Important: Medicine safety
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you're taking any other medicines, including herbal remedies, vitamins or supplements.
