Who can have trastuzumab
Most adults aged 18 years old and over can have trastuzumab.
Trastuzumab will only be given to you if your cancer is HER2 positive.
Who may not be able to have trastuzumab
Trastuzumab is not suitable for some people. To make sure it's safe for you, tell your doctor if you:
- have ever had an allergic reaction to trastuzumab or any other medicine
- have severe breathing problems because of your cancer or you have oxygen therapy
- have a heart condition, such as heart failure, severe angina or a problem with your heart valves
- have poorly controlled high blood pressure (hypertension)
- are trying to get pregnant, pregnant, or breastfeeding
