  1. Review titled Awful Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I cannot get through on the phone. The NHS app has lost most of my data since I moved over to this surgery 12 months ago. I cannot get an appointment with a GP. I am terminally ill and not expected to survive past xmas. The GP is supposed be be supporting me through my last year of life but has not contacted me once in the 12 months I have been there. I raised this all with them last week asking for my GP's support and they sent me a link to a survey 3 days later but no contact from an actual GP. I would not recommend this company if you actually have anything active you need to see a GP for and steer well clear if you have a terminal illness as you'll be ignored and will become invisible.

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy. I am unable too assist you as this posted anonymously and would urge you to email in with your details. I can assure you we have dedicated and focused care for patients at end of life and palliative circumstances. I do not recognise your experience reflects how we treat patients and any and all complaints are carefully investigated and responded to. Please contact the practice and be assured we will address any failings found.

  2. Review titled Terrible Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have, unfortunately, suffered a period of ill health but until this time have had very little contact with my surgery. However, on every occasion that I had contact with the surgery I came across the same receptionist who gave out incorrect information, shouted at other patients whilst I was in the waiting room and was very condescending to everyone I saw her have contact with including myself. Maybe extra training on communicating with empathy is required for this individual.

If you raise a formal complaint we will investigate and address any concerns that are valid and justified. But I must point out usually a manager is working in earshot of the team and often a GP is present. Our staff are all well trained, compassionate and caring and so shouting at patients and being condescending is not something we see. Our values are embedded in all our work. Without facts and names, dates it's difficult to properly investigate this for you.

  3. Review titled Reception

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Phoned up the surgery to confirm an appointment (date, time etc) because I had not received a text. The receptionist was extremely rude and said that I should have received a text regarding the appointment and I tried to tell her that I hadn’t received said text she said for the second time that “I should’ve received a text” and I told her I definitely hadn’t received said text and I then told her I hadn’t phoned up to argue with her and explained extremely politely could she just tell me the date and time of appointment. At this point she abruptly told me the date and time so fast I didn’t even have time to write it down and then she just hung up the phone without so much as a goodbye. She was so rude… !!

Trying to find the e consult for requires a massive amount of reading and searching, to find out not for urgent care desipte saying fastest way to access clinisions on the phone. All points to "why don't you leave us alone and go to A and E". Wast of time and tax.

  5. Review titled Doing a good job in difficult times

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dan Robertson - Posted on 18 May 2023

All GP practices are under massive strain at present and Earby surgery is no different. Thankfully I haven’t needed to see anyone for a while until recently, whenever I have called, despite the wait (same everywhere) on the phone I always get sorted and both receptionists and GP’s always been really helpful. I’ve used the new extended access service and have been really impressed. Currently on hold now and started as number 1 in the queue straight away at 1130 in the morning ☺️
