  1. Review titled Shambolic, shameful and deplorable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had been to brought to A & E by the ambulance service today for a simple bleeding of an operation wound sat for 8 hours in a bed no care or consideration given, I think for an organisation charged with looking after sick people this is the most unprofessional one can ever imagine, the staff are rude they are on their phones and they do not care at all about their duty of care or any human like behavior. It is inexcusable that NHS have such organisation as its branch and I am not sure what the students can learn from this catastrophically poor hospital.

  2. Review titled Caring kind respectful specialist

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I took mum to the Moorfields department at Croydon where the specialist Emma was so very kind and caring. Quite often people don’t talk directly to mum in the wheelchair, but Emma greeted her and spoke with her from the offset, everything explained so clearly, questions welcomed and answered, no rush and follow up organised, thank you Emma

They were so good and efficient. I cannot thank them enough for the care of my so , not just a job but a genuine feel of love and care for e what the do. My son was very poorly and they acted so fast and covered every eventuality. Up until discharge every one was absolutly amazing. This is my first time at this hospital as we are from north London. Would love to go back to thank them properly

  4. Review titled Fantastic maternity care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently gave birth to my first child at Croydon University Hospital and had a very positive experience. Although I had to give birth in the maternity unit rather than the birth centre, which was my preferred option due to the team being short staffed, I still had a great experience. Throughout labour I was treated with consideration and respect, and staff made great efforts to try and fulfill my birth preferences and seek my consent throughout. I also received my antenatal care from this hospital trust and had very positive experiences with the community midwives, obstetricians, sonographers, and non-clinical staff. I've been really impressed with the professionalism and kindness of everyone I've interacted with. I really can't recommend this hospital enough as somewhere to receive antenatal, birth, and postnatal care, especially if you have any additional needs.

  5. Review titled Appaling Experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I visited A&E last night due to severe neck pain. After calling 111, I received excellent support from both the advisor and the ambulance service, where the staff were very helpful. Given the long waiting time for an ambulance (approximately two hours), the ambulance service arranged a taxi for me, which was greatly appreciated. However, my experience at the hospital itself was extremely disappointing. After arriving at the reception around 2:00 a.m. and providing my details, I waited until 7:15 a.m. to be seen by a doctor. When the doctor eventually attended to me, he was both unprofessional and discourteous. I was also concerned about his level of skill and care, as the examination felt inadequate. I expressed my need to leave by 7:20 a.m. to fulfill my work obligations, as I am a single parent and cannot afford to take time off. The doctor reacted in an unprofessional manner, raising his voice and making inappropriate comments about my priorities. While I understand the importance of health, I felt this reaction was unnecessary and dismissive of my situation. Furthermore, despite having explained my symptoms multiple times to various staff members, the doctor did not appear to review any of the information already provided. His examination lasted no more than 10 seconds, during which he briefly touched my neck before prescribing opioids and dismissing me. I found this approach highly concerning, especially given the serious nature of my symptoms. Due to the inadequate care I received, my neck pain has since worsened, and I have been forced to schedule an appointment at a private hospital for further assessment. This not only affects my health but also imposes additional strain on my work and responsibilities as a parent. I am deeply disappointed with the level of care provided, which I feel falls short of the standards one should expect from the healthcare system. I intend to escalate this matter by filing a formal complaint with the hospital and will also consider raising my concerns with relevant external bodies and the media.

No one answers the phone in the gynaecologist department. I have had 7 appointments given to myself and cancelled for no reason. The wait time is 18 weeks however I’m nearly waiting 30 weeks … would be nice to actually speak to someone as this service is shocking.

My husband received top quality, speedy care in the intensive care treatment unit. I'm very grateful to all the staff in the department.

I attended the Women's Unit at CUH. The all-female team, from the person who answered my queries prior to the appointment (my letter was held up in the post) to the specialist doing the procedure, was friendly, reassuring and efficient.

The quick response to see me about my health problem was amazing. Unfortunately it could not be dealt with on the first appointment yesterday, but this morning a new appointment was arranged for next week. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
