  1. Review titled 121 centre

Rated 1 star out of 5

Disgusting …. I rang to make an appointment at 4pm for the following day but was told it’s not busy why don’t you come along now. I was at the service within 15 minutes and nearly 3 hours later I am still waiting to be seen. The receptionist came in and told people at 5pm that the wait would be at least 2hrs 30 minutes so a lot of patients left. I am still waiting - unacceptable process and service with no structure or staff. I am now being told that the nurse won’t have time to see me. Wow what has happened to the NHS. I look forward to your urgent response.

Attended on Saturday at 6pm, 30 minute wait, seen after 25 minutes. Sent for XRay and given appointment for 9.40pm for result. X-ray dept. Awaiting arrival, dealt with immediately. Returned for result, thorough examination and reassurance from X-ray. Given sound advice by a caring, knowledgeable, professional. What can you say about that level of service - amazing!!

  3. Review titled Total failure to understand patient needs

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2024

Getting to the clinic: No website information of how from bus stop except long walk round outside hospital. It was subzero temperature with ice. At the clinic: After basic measurements I was left in small room crammed with equipment and window wide open. I was shivering so found a window pole to shut the window. Called in. Sat facing 4 people listening to my answers to invasive questions. I had only come for investigation of my tremor, not someone demanding to know every personal detail. Only 1 of them spoke. I told her I was deaf. She did nothing to help me. I did not hear her name. It was not repeated or written down. Same for the other 3. I was given a walking test but did not hear the instructions so proceeded uncertainly. I was then described as a slow walker. I do not know what was decided. No definite diagnosis but DVLA will be told so will question my driving licence. Next contact given as 4-6 weeks. Pre- or post- Christmas? Where is the support promised on the parkinson disease website???? It states "being told you have Parkinson's disease can be emotionally distressing and the news can often be difficult to take in. It is important you have the support of your family and a care team". A dire experience. I am angry and upset. I do not need this as well as cancer and deafness.

Received an appointment letter for my elderly mother regarding physiotherapy. The letter had been written 10 days before the appointment date and only arrived on the day of the appointment. Bad practice!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patrick - Posted on 21 September 2024

My mother had a hip operation at Cramlington and was then moved to North Tyneside hospital to recover. All the staff were fantastic from the consultant to the staff who kept ward 31 slick and span. The nutritionist, physio and nurses couldn’t have done more. Thank you for all your work and care enabling my mother to move forward to the rehabilitation centre . Please pass on our thanks to all of the staff for their efforts.

  7. Review titled Work Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2024

I had my work experience at the Radiology/Radiography department. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and even though the original man who was supposed to guide me through my work experience didn’t even come since she was too busy with another work experience candidate the staff in the X-ray rooms helped keep me company by answering questions and letting me observe them complete x rays and telling me the parts of the bones and much more. I feel like the guy who I’m not able to include could’ve done better instead of leaving me in the x-ray room for few hours

I recently had a total hip replacement under care of the orthopaedic surgical team and the staff on ward 6. The whole procedure was carried out efficiently and and my care on ward 6 was faultless. I felt completely relaxed and trusted the team. The food was also very good.

This review is about my recent visit to the Cardiology Department. Thank you to the Cardiology teams at Cramlington (Ambulatory Care) / Wansbeck (Rapid access clinic) and North Tyneside (Cardiology Investigations Unit) for their high quality care delivered expertly with professionalism, sensitivity and humour. The care I have received across the three hospitals could not have been better. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard.
