Review titled No Privacy in the Emergency Department

I attended your emergency department with my mother who has dementia and she was placed in the corridor which is absolutely fine, I am acutely aware of the demand for your service and this is most certainly not my issue. My issue is with your staff who constantly walk through the back corridor as if it was a service corridor. The Paramedics each time they came close the doors on either end and put up the barrier to give all 10 or so patients the privacy they deserve. However, I lost count of how many of your staff decided to come along, open all the doors again, move the privacy screen, and wander straight through not going into the main emergency department. It was disgusting to see the staff be challenged by the polite paramedics and your staff ignore them and walk past as if they were not even there! I witnessed the sign stuck to the door myself to say go to Level 2 and walk around but not one person had the decency to do so.

My wife had a fall hurting her shoulder. Her GP asked her to visit A&E for an x-ray to be sure nothing was broken or dislocated. The new system in place worked really well for her. Initial assessment then into the main A&E for triage. Then the x-rays followed by the consultation and prescription. Everything went like clockwork, all the team were so kind and helpful, the areas we visited were squeaky clean. Best experience yet!

All the staff were amazing couldn’t ask for a better experience Thank you to the NHS and all the departments that were really friendly and helpful.
