  1. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2023

Can't fault Chesterfield Royal Hospital, from Emergency Dept right through to Surgical Assessment Unit (Elizabeth ward), and imaging staff, as soon as I can move about, there'll be flowers and choccies coming your way. Big props to the ancillary staff and porters too who are caring above and beyond and wheelchair drivers par excellence, and ct imaging who despite being very busy, were compassionate, human, and professional at all times. Plenty of masks and hand gel everywhere, such a shame so many visitors think they're above using them or socially distancing from poorly patients. Cannot praise the staff of this hospital highly enough.

  3. Review titled A&E wait

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Matthew Lyons - Posted on 01 November 2022

Over six hours in A&E for my wife and myself. During this, when asked about the hospitals own policy regarding 4 hour checks, staff became short tempered and said they haven’t got time or staff. One elderly man next to us had an injured elbow with the bone visible. 3 hours he sat there, only to find out he is on blood thinners!!!! what is happening calow hospital !!!!

I am sorry to read of your experience when in the Emergency Department. I hope to reassure you that this is not the standard of care the Trust aim for. If you would like to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01246 512640/3742 they will be able to take your concern and pass this onto the relevant feedback and provide you with some feedback. Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for your experience and the time you had to wait in the department. Rachel Walker Patient Experience Advisor

  4. Review titled Angels of Robinson Ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James Fletcher - Posted on 13 September 2022

My wife fell and broke her hip in Bakewell on the first day of our coach holiday. She was brought by ambulance to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and admitted to Robinson Ward. From the initial fall to the present moment I cannot speak more highly of the kindness shown to her by the people, both local and professional, of Bakewell and Chesterfield. The staff in Chesterfield Royal Hospital have been fantastic especially the nurses of Robinson Ward too many to name individually. They have truly been angels despite having to work so hard and with patients in pain and so ill. Thank you Angels of Robinson Ward
