Every one is friendly, professional and caring. Didn't wait long at all I was seen & diagnosed within 3 hours. Very Impressed Thank you xx

  2. Review titled ENT - Poor Patient Care & Multiple Cancellations

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 July 2024

I've been seen by ENT for several years, having suffered for some time with otitis externa, followed by injury during biopsy. This left me with ongoing problems with one of my ears. I had regular appointments at the CoCH until lockdown, when I was one of the unfortunate ones they took the opportunity to eject from their service. About 4 years have passed, with a couple of hiccoughs during that time, but nothing I couldn't sort out. Several weeks ago the problems escalated, causing a lot of pain and ongoing deafness. The symptoms baffled GPs and an audiologist, and after three weeks I managed to get an appointment with ENT. At last, this morning, my long awaited appointment arrived (hoorah!) I'd taken time of work, and was getting ready to leave in an hour's time... only to receive a text just now cancelling the appointment due to an emergency. It's reminded me of multiple cancellations over the years for different reasons. I understand there has been 'an emergency', but it is part of a continuing pattern of unreliable service and to be let down once again, at the last moment, is shocking and upsetting. And do the ENT department care? I shouldn't think so...

  4. Review titled Compassionate care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Absolute praise for the ED staff who provided excellent compassionate care for my husband yesterday. Despite another extremely busy day delivering emergency care the staff remained calm and highly professional in their approach. Their friendly demeanour helped to put us at ease. Thank you all so much.

  5. Review titled Professional and friendly

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had the misfortune of having to bring my little girl to A&E on the night of 13 Feb /early hours of 14 Feb as she was very wheezy and breathless. After a short wait, she was triaged by a calm and friendly nurse. He then informed the duty doctor - who promptly assessed her and prescribed the treatment and told us the plan. Another nice female nurse came over and administered the medication. She made my daughter feel relaxed throughout. After a period of observation, we were allowed to go home with the meds and relevant discharge information. All in all, we spent about 3 hours there. I have heard horror stories about the current state of NHS hospitals (esp A&E) but nothing but praise and gratitude from me this time. I am not allowed to put any names down but you know who you are!
