Review titled Terrible breast screening experience, never again.
by TAM - Posted on 05 July 2024
Went for a breast screening exam in the mobile units and couldnt believe how unfriendly the radiographer was, I was very nervous so I tried to talk to take my mind off it, so after trying the usual weather, I asked if they had been doing this very long and is it ok or does it get boring by the end of the week (i was unbelievably self conscious and nervous and trying to take my mind off it by talking) they just said "no" and silence, then turned round and said why would you say that, I was confused and they said you're making out my job is nothing and boring, I apologised and said that I was very sorry I really didn't mean it that way, they then said I've been to university for years studying and you made out my job is boring, I again said sorry and I honestly didn't mean anything and i genuinely liked hearing about peoples jobs, but after that they didn't speak except to tell me where to stand in an awful tone that made me even more self conscious, the atmosphere was horrendous, I was nearly in tears and now 7 hours later I still cannot stop getting upset about it. I won't ever put myself through that again, never ever have I had a personal type appointment like that where the staff made me feel worse. That was the last breast screening I'll attend, I was nervous enough before but now it's a definite no in future.

Review titled Disabled Parking
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 December 2023
Having visited the hospital for the first time using my Blue Disabled Badge I was shocked at how extra hard a system can be made. To be able to forgo the payment you park then on leaving have to walk across the carpark to find the parking management building. He then stamps your card so that it will open the barrier for you to leave. For someone who has already gone through the procedure of accessing a diability badge (often a little embarrassing) then to have to go through this drama I was completely shocked. Surely things should be made easier for people who are already struggling not harder and more complicated.

Review titled 8. Hrs wait in a&e
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 December 2023
After waiting over 8 hrs to be seen by a Dr who immediately admitted me and had to wait another 12 hrs for a bed on a ward ...the nurses and Drs were amazing. I think in my opinion the community Drs need to start seeing patients again instead of a 4 week wait for a phone consultation and over 5 weeks to see a Dr why are they still blaming COVID ??

Review titled Exemplary care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hilary James - Posted on 22 April 2023
I was admitted on April 4th as an emergency following an ecg at home. While travelling from my home in Scotland. My GP rang to tell me to go to the nearest A&E immediately. On arrival at Darlington aI explained the problem and was seen at once, given an ecg and sent straight to ICU in A&E and later admitted to a ward. After 24 hours of tests it was confirmed I needed a pacemaker and this was given to me the following day. All the staff were wonderful, particularly the cardiac team who were simply exemplary. I cannot thank them enough.
