Review titled Smooth and efficient
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nicholas Jupp - Posted on 21 January 2023
I had occasion to visit A&E at Epsom for the first time on at 1830 on 19/1. From the receptionist, to the triage nurse to the treating nurse and, the radiologist, it ran smoothly and efficiently. I was in and out in under 2 hours! I wish the rules could let me tell you their names but I suppose it is because of the whole 'team' that I had such an excellent service. Thank you!

Review titled Highly disappointing
Rated 1 star out of 5

We visited St Helier A&E on a Sunday evening as my daughter had chest pain and a severe panic attack. She had a blood test which got lost. After hours of waiting she was seen by a doctor. That doctor's shift ended and she left. Then she had a second blood test by a totally incompetent nurse, she was not answering my anxious daughter's question: " How much longer? " She has a huge bruising still. The 2nd doctor said results will be back in 15 mins. This was at about 3.00 a.m. Altogether we waited 8 hours!!! We left at 6.00 am after waiting a few more hours for the blood results, which never arrived. The doctor said she can't give anything for anxiety. ( prescription) Meanwhile, she got a packet of painkillers. The receptionists were rude, unhelpful, too. The staff has zero awareness of mental health emergencies. Highly disappointing! It was a surreal experience. The treatment was inhumane and my daughter's confidence in the NHS non-existent. Next day we went to the GP, she asked why did A&E not give you a prescription for anxiety meds? Yes, I'm asking the samy question? Why? My daughter was suffering all night, she was shivering, freezing cold, she had no sleep for 24 hrs. Really sad.

Review titled I had excellent care and treatment thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ann Duncan - Posted on 10 January 2023
My GP sent me to a & e today 10.1.23. I had excellent care and treatment. I arrived at approx 5pm and left 2 1/2 hours later after thorough investigations for chest pain and palpitations. I have worked as a nurse for 40 + years ..(now retired) and was very impressed by my treatment. All staff from the gentleman on reception...the male HCA and the excellent Dr in the GP hub were a credit to the NHS. I am sorry I did not make a note of their names . Please pass on my thanks.

I arrived in A&E yesterday morning after falling on ice the previous day. I took food with me preparing for a long wait. 2 hours later I was on my way home having had x-rays to both wrists, a plaster on 1 and splint on the other. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Review titled Endoscopy Unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by jacqueline ruby murry - Posted on 31 January 2023
I had a gastroscopy in the endoscopy unit and I can honestly say that it was the best experience I have had in a hospital environment. I arrived ten minutes before my appointment very nervous and I was seen on time. Staff were very friendly and and reassuring and had no problems with the procedure whatsoever. I was home two and half hours after leaving home.

My mother was on Britton ward at Epsom after following a stroke in May 22. She was in hospital for 11 weeks. Mum Betty Davies also suffers with dementia. I cannot thank all the amazing Nurses Doctors, tea men. What an amazing team who work long hours and are active from the moment their shift starts . Nothing is to much trouble and they looked after my mum with patience, respect and we were also treat the same . What a team of amazing workers they are an absolute credit to the NHS

Review titled So much good practice.
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband had an acute condition that meant we visited had to visit a clinic this morning. Throughout the day he was assessed by 10 practitioners. Everybody was so helpful and caring - even if we didn't know which way to go in a corridor staff were helpful before we asked a question. The hospital staff are shinning example to what is so good about the NHS. Thank you all so much.

by Christopher Tho Thomson - Posted on 02 January 2023
Arrived at casualties at 8.15pm and was attended to immediately . It was very very busy , but the three lady doctors on duty were brilliant . was tested , treated and made comfortable until discharged at 6.20 the following morning . My fullest praise to these ladies who remained calm during the whole process , if there was a flower vender there , i would have bought them each a bunch of flowers , well done , much appreciated , sadly i cannot name you , you guys need recognition ...

Review titled Calm, caring, support
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had visits to the emergency treatment centre via 111 over the Christmas / New Year periods. Considering the nation press regarding pressure and waiting times I count myself futunate to have received the service I did. Staff were at all times, calm, approachable and caring. Despite the undercurrents of high workload the impression at all times was 'patient first'. Thank you Epsom.
