  1. Review titled Amazing care at A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 December 2022

Had to visit A&E with my son who was in significant pain following a rugby injury. Packed on arrival with waits for both out of hours and A&E triage but nurse on entrance kept a watching eye on my son and facilitated the ordering of an XRay and transfer through as soon as possible. Staff throughout very efficient and patient centric and son was quickly assessed, XRayed and discharged. I cannot fault any of the team we experienced- it was patently clear that the pressures on services like this are extreme but care and safety is clearly the priority.

  2. Review titled Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thanks to everyone who helped me , I was referred from out of hours doctor and my only wait was for my blood results.. The care was excellent and hugely improved from when I was there many many years ago. I do have a suggestion for you to please look at - I was asked to return the next day to collect medication from pharmacy, this meant another journey after spending several hours of the night at hospital and being unwell. Luckily my children were old enough to stay home. Also not good for the environment with so many journeys ; and the impact on needing to take time off work. I saw others who had been at Accident and Emergency the previous night too in a similar position. Had to go to pharmacy twice as the medications were not on system the first time , and had to wait around 40 minutes to get it the second time. If the medications were given at Accident and Emergency it can save so much time. Or else a prescription that can be used at any local pharmacy is better for the patients experience. I pay for my prescriptions and would have been happy to pay as usual if this had been available at Accident and Emergency.

  3. Review titled Amazing Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My Dad had to go to A &E at the George Eliot Monday evening. The care and treatment he received from all staff was outstanding. He had to have various tests, and was very poorly. I want to thank all of the staff who dealt with my Dad, I can't thank you enough for how you treated him. Any time my family members have gone to the A & E department, you've been brilliant every time. I can't thank you enough for your care.

  4. Review titled Great nursing staff helped me to feel comfortable

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2022

I attended for a hysteroscopy today and was absolutely dreading it. A lovely woman talked me through getting changed into gown and to get ready on the hospital bed. She was very chatty and sat close to me at my side during the whole process which is an uncomfortable procedure she took my hand and comforted me and helped me time my breathing . I felt relaxed and reassured the whole time and very thankful for her assisting me through and making an unpleasant procedure manageable. I really feel she was so good at her job. The gynaecologist who carried out the procedure had a good manner and got the job done whilst talking to me and showing me the screen. Thank you to all the staff for their compassion and help much appreciated

  5. Review titled Difficult to access service

    by user12345 - Posted on 23 August 2022

Initially took me well over a week to get through to book an appointment at the Rugby Sexual Health Clinic as was frequently told that there were no physical appointments and to ring back the next day at 9am, which I did constantly to no avail. After making a complaint to the council, I was contacted by several people including a service manager to help assist me in making an appointment. Unfortunately, I do not remember this person's name, though I would like to note and thank them for their assistance and understanding. From this, I was able to book the next available appointment for the following week. My initial appointment was professional and the staff I met were very friendly. However, two further things that I have found disappointing. Firstly, I was informed that a telephone consult with a doctor for an assessment and medication prescription would take place 2 weeks from the date of my appointment as this would be when my results were back. At the time I got this call I was out of the UK. The Doctor promptly informed me we could not continue with the assessment because of this he would call me back the following week and hung up. 2 weeks on and I have not heard back. This has delayed my access to the medication I initially went to get a month and a half ago. Perhaps I am missing something, but given it was a telephone assessment the fact that I wasn't physically in the UK wouldn't be such a big deal. If this was a cost thing, I would have gladly called back on my own credit if given that option. Secondly, I requested a copy of my results. The staff member I requested this from seemed very disgruntled while questioning me on my need for it and became very unhappy with my reasoning for requesting this. I was told this would have to be organised on a day the secretary was working and to ring back then. I attempted to ring back on those suggested days to again no get through. I thought this would be more simple to attain than it clearly is and I didn't enjoy feeling like I was arguing my case to get this done despite it being what I assume is a patient right. I gave up on this and went private. Overall, the staff I encountered have been very nice and knowledgeable, though there are some issues in terms of accessing the service that could be improved.
