  1. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Bilateral hernia. Was seen by the surgeon who was very thorough with details of procedure. Went on to ward and was questioned several times to ensure all was correct. Nurses were attentive and good humoured. In 78 years this was my first operation, so was a little apprehensive about it. Staff in the theatre were superb, and I felt quite relaxed. Off to sleep and woke up 2.5 hours later. Back to ward for a drink and biscuits. No problem with passing water, so out at 5.30pm. After three days little pain and no after effects from the anaesthetic. All in all a pleasant experience with caring and cheerful staff. All praise to the hospital, the N H S at its best.

  2. Review titled Demonstrating poor trust values

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I recently had a relative visit the endoscopy clinic, the staff on reception were absolutely brilliant and extremely helpful. However the clinicians demonstrated poor trust values towards my relative. They had poor communication with them and didn’t explain the procedure or process. Time management was extremely poor an appointment that should have been for 9am didn’t happen until gone 12:00. Conversations that were private and confidential regarding other patients were heard and staff could be heard saying they were lying to patients about wait times. My relative was left in an empty corridor that only allowed swipe access so they were unable to ask for help if needed.

On April10th i was admitted to the urology department of Khg for Greenlight Lazer surgery.I have to say I do not believe I could have been treated better at any private hospital. The consultant and his team were first class ,putting me at ease and explaining the procedures for my operation for enlarged prostate .The nurses and care assistants were all of the highest calibre. Also special thanks to the lady who we had to contact a few times in the waiting list department who was always so helpful. Many thanks Nhs

  4. Review titled Excellent Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted to Kettering Hospital on the 22nd August 2023 for a Hernia operation and would like to thank all involved for my excellent treatment. When I arrived I was greeted very warmly and politely. My details were taken and the forms completed in a very thorough and professional way. These details were rechecked by all members of staff visiting my bedside to explain the operation process to me. They were all very courteous and friendly. I felt very secure and impressed with the amount of time they spent with me to ensure I was fully aware and understood the process. By the time I was called I was feeling very relaxed and well cared for. In theatre, the operation team were equally very efficient and worked together in friendly and very professional way. After care in the ward was of course thoughtful and supportive. Great job from a great all round team, a credit to the hospital. Thank you all.

  5. Review titled Very poor patient service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the care and service I received during my recent visit to your Accident and Emergency department. As a patient who experienced a severe anaphylactic reaction, I expected to receive prompt and compassionate care. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by poor patient service and a lack of communication from the staff. Despite the urgency of my situation, the staff members displayed a complete lack of responsiveness and failed to effectively communicate with me. Furthermore, it was particularly distressing to be told that I needed to book in first before any action could be taken, despite collapsing right in front of the receptionist. In emergency situations, it is imperative for the staff to prioritise patient well-being and demonstrate empathy and professionalism. It was disheartening to witness the receptionist's lack of concern, as they showed no urgency in seeking immediate assistance or providing the necessary care. Even after collapsing within the department and having dangerously low blood pressure, I was met with indifference from the triage nurse

  7. Review titled caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the hospital this morning with what could be a serious ongoing complaint. I was first assessed within 5 mins of checking in, and was into my second doctor/stage within 15 mins of arrival. I swiftly moved through all the doctors/nurses I needed to see and had various tests, waiting the longest for blood test results which was only an hour anyway! The Doctors and Nurses listened and cared. I left feeling that I had been looked after well, and was informed that I would be receiving after care/tests which they would sort out shortly - something that apparently had been over looked for yrs in my case by various hospitals. I could not fault Kettering General Hospital on this visit, and thank you to all involved.
