  1. Review titled Not trained enough patient champion

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mahesh poi - Posted on 10 December 2024

I went to a&e Northwick Park today 10/12/24 at 12 noon due to chronic chest infection so I can get prescriptions of antibiotics to stop spreading the severity of the infection I was assessed by nurse at Urgent care and the she referred me so called patient champion who on first impression confronted me that as I got cough I shouldn’t be visiting A&E and then I explained to her it just not cough it’s chest infection which she was less bother to address the situation and decided to pass my case towards my GEneral practitioner in north Kensington so they will be in touch with me for prescriptions I was utterly shocked by her choice if you see unwell patient and it’s chest infection situation there is no need to punish me and send it over to General practitioner it was just dip mole prescriptions of antibiotics after this I raise my issue to receptionist she was kind enough to understand my situation and advice me to challenge her decision which so called patient champion got bit agitated and keep denying her previous statements after challenging this she finally referrede to me someone who assessed my situation less than 10 min and sent home with antibiotics All I was asking to help me get antibiotics so I can stop infection as we all knows General practicen are useful and they work hard but due to severity of my case I came to a&e and without holding scientific evidence she was verbally guiding me not knowing consequences that can lead if it’s is not treated in time So I kindly ask this trust to look in to her position as this may cause harm to someone who’s in need in future

  2. Review titled Chaotic Addministration

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 July 2024

I have been referred by my GP for Cardiology consultation more than a year ago. Yesterday, I received five successive emails two of them were for the appointment and three of them were cancellations. It is beyond comprehension to see a Health Care Trust being so mismanaged that won't be able to send even a notification for my appointment by email properly. This is waste of time, resources and shambolic process. I hope higher management reads this comment and prevents the same disorganisation does not happened for the medical care of a patient which would be a catastrophic occurrence.

The worst hospital with arrogant staff who slam your file! the ugly way to talk to a patient who is trying to explain to you about his appointment! but the lady at the reception was too busy to talk to her colleague

  4. Review titled Bad

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am 33 weeks pregnant and only at 32 weeks I had an ultrasound appointment where I was told that my child would have short legs, 30 minutes later I was told that the child would also have a small head and that a caesarean section at 37 weeks! For a week they kept me like this and with many appointments one after another and they always called me to cancel them or to change my time! Today, for example, the lady at the reception behaved very badly! I tried to explain to him that I have an appointment at test and that someone from the hospital called me to tell me that some changes have appeared! but the lady wasn't that nice and didn't even let me talk, she always talked over me!

  5. Review titled Phone numbers on letters are wrong

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2023

My mother has an appointment for an ultra sound - asking her to ring the hospital. The numbers on the letter are both wrong. Spoken to 2 helpful people - who are professionals and not switch board operators and make calls to 9 different numbers! What a waste of time, talent and money. Finally rang the main switch board - who tried to put me through. No pick up and I give up. Now not sure what’s happening and nhs may not have the info they want. Basic common sense approach -can the phone numbers be checked before the letters go out? Or if you’re changing numbers use the main hospital number -until things settle down. Wasting not only the Health Professionals time and money, but also stressing out the patients!

  6. Review titled Terrible Occupational health service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by New Starter - Posted on 17 August 2023

I had an initial appointment for which I expected all bases were covered and was assured by the nurse that I would be signed off fit for work. I then received a call back from the same department from another clinician that I would need to answer a few follow up questions, I agreed and had an another appointment two days later. Later I found out that I basically had to re answer all the questions again and they were not follow up questions, I feel as if the trust are trying to catch me out and are discriminating about my chronic long term medical condition. I also found the services conduct dishonest as they were not clear and did not explain appropriately what the second appointment would consist of. I found the consultation to be patronizing with the clinician stating I do not know what my condition is and how to manage it? I have emailed the line manager that I was supposed to be working under and let them know and apologised to them for wasting their time as my understanding now is that the trust may not allow me to start the new role as they are discriminating against people with certain disabilities.

  7. Review titled It was a really human and heart warming experience

by Buffy Frobisher QC - Posted on 16 January 2023

I went to Caryl Thomas Clinic in Harrow for a full sexual health screening (GUM/STI) following the end of a long relationship where the other party was probably not faithful. The staff were all absolutely wonderful from start to finish, it’s a very easy process, they took a real interest in my life in general and me as a person and did all the tests necessary. It was a really human and heart warming experience and not at all what I expected. I am not young any more and was very nervous as I had never been before. The hardest thing was making myself pee into the bottle! Drink plenty water if you go! I’d recommend everyone get checked. It’s massive peace of mind. My results came back negative but even if they hadn’t I feel sure any problem I might have had could be solved - go for it - be happy - don’t live in fear
