Review titled Fantastic as always
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2025
My husband was brought in by the Paramedics after a fall at around 3.00 pm. He was seen and treated in A&E very quickly and had an MRI on his head an ECG and treatment for a large cut on his forehead. All staff concerned were friendly, helpful and professional. He was home by 7.00. I am receiving treatment at the moment from the Cancer Centrer and also Rhematology and everyone in both departments are fantastic.

Review titled Appalling service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Silv - Posted on 28 January 2025
I'm not one to often go to hospital or doctor in general, I tend to wait until I feel really unwell before going and this time I called 111 for extreme pain who told me to attend urgent care. I did, knowing I would have to wait and I waited patiently despite the pain. I do urine tests. 4 hours go past and I'm finally seen by a doctor that sends me for scans in A&E. Once arrived in A&E the nurse not only tells me I'd have to re-do urine test again because they "wanted it on the system" which is ridiculous because I was literally in a structure around the corner from them, how could they have another system, but also I would have to be seen by a doctor again ( wait time 7 hours ) and the doctor will decide whether I'll get a scan or not, which in turn I'd have to wait for again and once again wait to see the doctor to discuss the results. This is absolutely ridiculous. The doctor hasn't called anyone in in an hour! No clear communication amongst NHS structures, no communication with patients that are left waiting for hours without updates. People come here because we are in pain, not to hang around and yet asking a question to anybody here feels like annoying the customer service assistant at a post office! Unapproachable to say the least. Absolutely shocking.

Hello Silv My name is Lisa Barnes and I am the Patient Experience Lead at Milton Keynes Hospital. I am so sorry to read your review regarding our hospital. I do understand your concerns regarding the communication issues between ourselves and the Urgent Care Centre. Just to explain, although we are on the same physical site, the Urgent Care Centre does not sit under the remit of the hospital. However, I would really appreciate it if you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Team (PALS) to enable us to get a clearer understanding of your experience at the hospital so we can work with the staff responsible to make improvements, where needed. PALS can be contacted as follows: pals@mkuh.nhs.uk or by telephoning 01908 995954. I wish you well. Thank you The Patient and Family Experience team

Review titled The worst services
Rated 1 star out of 5

I spent over 2 hours on the phone waiting for someone to answer, to reschedule an appointment! During all this time no one had the respect to answer my call and this happens during working hours. Shame on the staff and management for this carelessness and lack of respect for patients. I have not heard anyone praise the services of this hospital, and it seems rightly so

From the time I arrived at maple unit till the time I ended on ward 21b all within 24hrs, the care I received from all the nurses on ward 21b was fantastic, they had so much time & emyththy for their patients. The quickness I had scans, xrays and even mri and not to mention two major procedures all done within a week is amazing. Thank u all so much. Keep up the great work 21b.

Review titled Don't go here if you're experiencing a mental health crisis!
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Lewis - Posted on 11 March 2023
Good if you don't have a mental health crisis. Today I came due to my life-threatening mental health (I won't delve into details) and got left for most of 8hours. Self-OD'd while in A&E and prior to going, was given a dose of charcoal to have and a blood test then nothing except a very short talk since for about 7 hours. Almost walked Infront of cars during that time when I walked outside for half an hour but no one noticed. Will never come here again for this.

Review titled 24 hours in A&E and Ward 23
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by aimee E britton - Posted on 29 March 2023
I would like to compliment every single member of staff that we encountered at the hospital. From the receptionist to hca, nurse associates, nurses, doctors, shop staff, discharge planners. Everyone of you was kind, patient, helpful and compassionate. Yes we sat 15 hours on a chair waiting for treatment and then a bed but the staff were just fantastic wherever we went. Thank you.

Review titled Good at medical, appalling standards of care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ann Miles - Posted on 07 March 2023
Shocked to hear just now that my daughter who was recovering from an abdominal operation was woken at 11.30pm, had to pick up her belongings and be moved to a completely different ward. This is not care by any reasonable standards.
