I didnt know what an eye floater was. I experienced a flashing sensation one night and next day had the tiniest of floater. Went to Morefield. They examined and put dilation drops in both eyes. By the night i called an ambulance and couldnt see anything. Been suffering since. Not all eyes are for the dilation drops thats all i can say. Now im a victim to the system .number 45...

  2. Review titled Great A&E team...Fix the pharmacy wait times

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had an excellent experience in A&E - from the security guard, the team member taking my details, the consultant surgeon who triaged me and prescribed the medicine, to the next appointment booking...all excellent and done in under 40 minutes Then got to the Moorfields hospital pharmacy and was advised that wait times were 50 minutes+..massive queue...people standing in the hallway. Got my prescription after waiting for 80 minutes...1 hour and 20 minutes on February 16 2023..11.30am to 12.50pm The pharmacist prescribing the medicine said they were short- staffed. Fix this. Patients in pain should not be waiting this long. This situation is not helped by the fact that you "have to" receive your prescribed medicine from a Moorfields pharmacy. Monopolies generate inefficiencies.

  3. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended the hospital yesterday. Firstly Costa Coffee, very close to the clinics, was a good place to relax in after a early start and if you are there too early, nice staff. The clinic organisation was very good, after a little wait my history was collected by a very nice nurse and I then only waited for another 5 minutes to see the Doctor. The Doctor was excellent, he really gave me his full and genuine attention. He was gentle with my eyes and he delivered his findings very clearly. The whole experience was very positive. I was in good hands and knew what to do with flare ups in the future. I am grateful that they are keeping me on their books.

  4. Review titled Outstanding clinical service…but

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been a patient for over 20 years and received outstanding service. Hoowever,When I need to cancel and rebook my latest appointment this has proved a nightmare, totally unacceptable procedure. The number given on the appointment letter has a rude message “this mailbox is full goodbye” after 3 days of trying, calling city road they transfer me to receive the same message. Now I know why so many nhs appointments are a “no show”, shame on you Moorfields you need to review your systems as this is unacceptable.

  5. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have had two cataracts done at Moorfields in the past three months, as well as being monitored over three years for possible Glaucoma which meant visiting every six months or so. Every time I have been impressed by all my interactions with the staff, who who have always treated me exactly as you would want to be treated. It is a large busy hospital but they have always been efficient and helpful and friendly, and there are volunteers around to direct you as well. The medical staff have always taken time and trouble to answer any questions I have had and given me good advice. I was very happy with both cataract operations, they were quick and easy and I would encourage anyone not to be nervous as I was to begin with. You really don't feel or see anything, strange as it seems! The aftercare is also good, they give you a lot of information to read which explains everything in simple language and you can phone someone to ask if you have questions. I am very grateful to live in London and be able to access this excellent specialist hospital.
