Review titled Amazing representative
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Norma Barbara Cook - Posted on 19 November 2024
I had to visit Seaton Hospital today to see a lady who works in the physiotherapy department and I believe she is responsible for working with the department in Exeter which carries out knee and hip procedures. Today was the first time I had met this lady and I am delighted to say that she was absolutely outstanding during our consultation. I had previously been seen by a physio who works at Seaton and she had also been extremely helpful when she was helping me do some exercises before setting up the meeting with the lady I saw today, and her friendly attitude was also very helpful. The lady I saw today is now going to arrange for me to be seen by the team in Exeter and I will be thrilled and relieved if I receive similar treatment there. Thank you, and I am more than happy if you pass on my comments to the two ladies I have mentioned today.

I had the mirena coil removed at the Tiverton clinic. The procedure was painful (as expected) but the doctor was kind and patient with me.

Review titled Online consultation
by Rudyboo - Posted on 21 December 2023
I was recently meant to have an online consultation. I have been waiting since the beginning of the year for this appointment. After logging in 10 minutes before my appointment, I received a call just before to tell me the doctor is having technical issues. I waited in the online queue for 27 minutes! I have been told that I will get a call to reschedule.

Dear Rudyboo I am sorry to hear that your recent online consultation was cancelled due to technical difficulties. This must have been very frustrating both for yourself and the clinician. I am unclear from your feedback which service this relates to but please accept my apologies on their behalf and thanks for your patience. You should hear from the booking team to reschedule in the near future. If for any reason this is not the case, please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison service (PALS) and they will assist you to reschedule. Their details can be found here: https://royaldevon.nhs.uk/patients-visitors/patient-advice-and-liaison-service-pals/ Kind regards Lisa

Review titled Such an amazing team!
by pictorym64 - Posted on 27 October 2023
My father was dying from cancer and sadly passed away last month. I was lucky to spend the last few months with him. The local nurses team in Lynton were amazing! I saw the level of care they gave my father. Popping in every day to change dressings on his legs. A brilliant local carer came in 3 times a week to help him wash. On my father's last day, his heart gave in. The nurses were there and the local carer. They were able to get him into bed and made him comfortable. One of the nurses had to search the village for a syringe for the syringe driver needed to keep him out of pain. The nurse had to drive to Ilfracombe to get one. That's what I call above and beyond the call of duty! The nurses in Lynton are the best I have ever seen but I don't think they have enough equipment! Such an amazing team!

Hi Many thanks for your lovely feedback. We really do appreciate the time you have taken to send this kind feedback during this sad time. It is very helpful to receive feedback and understand how patients and family feel about the care they have received. As a small team we do try and work with the carers with our end of life patients to ensure they are cared for with dignity and compassion. This ensures patients and family members are cared for holistically and with continuity. I will pass your kind words to the teams. It was a honour to look after your father as the team have known him for many years. Best Wishes Amy.

Review titled She gave really sensible advice
by listenmd39 - Posted on 16 August 2023
We had our first appointment with independent living at Newton Abbott in Devon. I was given a card to leave some feedback. I wanted to say how good it was. The appointment was for my husband. The person we saw was so kind and interested when she was asking what my husband can and can't do. She gave really sensible advice and I am already putting in place some of what she told us to.

Review titled Caring and kind
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by R. Simpson - Posted on 24 July 2023
I was taken to A and E after a fall from my moutain bike on dartmoor which left me unconscious. From the moment the ambulance staff arrived they were professional and kind, looking after my son too and reassuring him as he was quite distressed. When I arrived at Exeter A and E, all the staff I encountered were kind, professional and nurturing, I felt in very good hands and safe and calm. I was discharged after thorough tests and well looked after. A big thank you to your amazing team who work tirelessly throughout their busy shift.

Review titled Visit to the bladder and bowel clinic
by bobby50 - Posted on 08 June 2023
No internet so had none of my history. Had a bladder scan pre and post micturition which gave the same reading which was obviously inaccurate. I was offered Tena products but they had no examples of the types available so had to guess. When they arrived at my home they were unsuitable. I was offered self cathetisation . On reflection I wanted to cancel this appointment as felt it was unsuitable for me. I tried to phone to cancel the appointment and it went straight to Musac then cut off after a two minute hold. Did this four times.

Dear Bobby50 Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for the Bladder and Bowel service. I have spoken to the Bladder and Bowel Care Specialist Nurse and they were sorry to hear about the frustrations that you experienced. They were also sorry to hear that your Tena products were unsuitable when they arrived. Based on your feedback, the service are going to keep a range of samples in each clinic, which they hope will make selection easier. I am unsure from your feedback whether you are still experiencing problems but if you are please can you contact the Bladder and Bowel care service on 01392 675336 or email rduh.bladderandbowel@nhs.net. to allow us to resolve these. May I thank you again for taking the time to share your story and wish you well for any further treatment you may need. Kind regards Richard Foley Operational Manager for Specialist Services

Review titled Brilliant care given
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Pam Glover - Posted on 07 May 2023
My daughter drove me to Exeter hospital Accident and Emergency with a suspected and parked by the ambulance bay so she could get me a wheelchair. One of the amubulance crew came over to help and got me a trolly and gas and air and took me straight through to be seen. The consultant arrived within ten mintes and I was given morphine. The nurse looking after me and taking me for xray and CT scan was outstanding so kind caring and helping me manage my pain. A&E staff were brilliant Thank you for your care.
