  1. Review titled Exceptional care

    by Marino10 - Posted on 20 July 2023

My recent visit to Dermatology Department, Litchdon House: I do not have a major problem. However, the specialist consultant, nurse and receptionist are awesome people, kind and extremely professional, with that excellent humanity that only comes with being exceptional at your work (knowledge and ability). I know there are many thoughtless 'knockers' out there, but when you need help, and you get help at this level of excellence, I can only say; thank you, inadequate as that simple statement seems to me.

  2. Review titled Professional and Caring Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alan Hart - Posted on 06 January 2023

My doctor pre-informed the Surgical Ward of my attendance with suspected Appendicitis on 4 Jan. On arrival that morning I was processed, examined and booked in for a scan, confirming inflamed Appendicitis, then booked in and added to what was already a long list, for an Operation on 5 Jan. Despite an extremely busy period for the Hospital Wards (Abbey and Durbin) and Operating Theatres I was dealt with professionally, in a timely fashion, along with care and patience and discharged just after midday on 6 Jan. From a very grateful patient, a sincere thank you to all the Surgical Teams and the nurses and staff of Abbey and Durbin wards for reassuring me and looking after me, particularly so at a very busy and stressful period.

  3. Review titled Outstanding Care & Compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Tim H - Posted on 15 December 2022

I was sent by my GP to the Acute Medical Unit for breathing difficulties following a virus. The unit was very busy but the care was outstanding. I had a full range of tests including a chest X-ray. The doctors and nurses were all so understanding and empathetic. My final reassuring talk was with a consultant doctor who explained everything to me and I was discharged 5 hours later with a care plan. I can't thank them enough.

  4. Review titled The therapists were very understanding

    by eaterzr46 - Posted on 11 November 2022

I was recently diagnosed as having rheumatoid arthritis and during the first flare up was very disabled for eight weeks. The consultant referred me to the independent living centre in Newton Abbot. The occupational therapist and a student working with her were extremely helpful in demonstrating aids for use in the kitchen and I tried them out. They also demonstrated aids for putting on socks and doing up buttons. I am now prepared to cope with future flares. The therapists were very understanding.
