Review titled Amazing support
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ana - Posted on 23 May 2024
I gave birth on 22nd of April 2024. I would like to say a huge thank you to all team that supported me through labour and after. I was very well looked after, great experience and amazing staff. I was afraid because usually there are good and bad experiences and I am a first time mum, but they took all fears away by looking after me. The midwife that I gave birth with I will always be grateful for supporting and encouraging me through labour and giving me confidence. They never left my side, they looked after my baby girl and teached me how to breastfeed and cope with my first day as a mum. Thank you again. My baby girl says hello and thank you as well

Thank for the people who helped me today and were all very kind. 1. The person who assessed me in A&E 2. The person who did my blood test in A&E and did my ecg 3. The doctor who saw me in urgent care 4. The person who did my xray 5. The person who gave me iv medication, treatment and fluids in urgent care 6. And then the same doctor from urgent care for discharging me with the medication I needed. Thank you all. The experience was as positive as it could be.

Review titled Improving quality service

Queuing and being ignored without any indication such as " will be with you shortly" helps in the fact that you have been acknowledged and someone will be with you shortly. On commenting about the experience, l don't appreciate being informed by the receptionist staff " well if you noticed this is the state of the NHS. Meet and greet is the first impression of the patent experience and being dismissive is very much a negative regardless of politics. What l took away today was that of cold and impersonable experience

Review titled Keep cancelling appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Nahuel Durante - Posted on 23 January 2024
I've been referred to the breast clinic by my GP one month ago, and the Hospital has already cancelled the appointment two times, and rescheduling for weeks later. Today they cancelled it 24hs before the appointment, they should offer better options, like rescheduling in the next 48/72hs, not two weeks. Now I feel like in two weeks time they might cancel it again, for a third time, and I'll keep waiting for a scan and diagnosis. It's very frustrating honestly.

Review titled Hospital transport
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 January 2024
I sadly do not know the names of the ambulance crew & gentleman who was so caring about organising my 90 year old mums hospital transport home today. My mum is bedridden & for her to have to go through an ordeal of being taken to hospital & back via hospital transport for a scan was traumatic but the crew that took her home were amazing I cannot thank enough. Also the gentleman who was constantly trying to arrange her trip home. I hope they are appreciated by many for there caring & going that extra mile. You do not find it often now. I cannot thank them enough for there support.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lisa Jeffery - Posted on 29 December 2023
From the admin staff whom called me a few time before procedure to all health care assistants, nurses, doctors & surgeons all whom were very caring, understanding and clear. This is a very well run organisation which put me at ease and made me feel very safe, listened to and understood. I am extremely happy with all my care. Thank you to everyone involved.

Review titled Fantastic maternity care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 March 2024
I gave birth by elective c-section at the Royal Free in December 2023 and can’t recommend the hospital enough. The pre-natal care was exceptional, with no expense spared to test and scan, even if just for reassurance. I had anxiety during my pregnancy so the hospital provided over ten sessions of talking therapy, which made my pregnancy so much more enjoyable and peaceful. I also received additional scans in the second and third trimesters for reassurance. That made a world of a difference to me. The birth was a pleasant and relaxing experience, from the interaction with the wonderful midwifery team to the excellent and friendly surgeons, who ensured we were informed of everything they were doing and able to participate to the fullest. I spent two nights in hospital after giving birth and found the entire stay excellent. I know the NHS is (rightly) berated for many shortcomings, but pre, natal and post natal services at the Royal Free can’t be faulted. Thank you! (I even liked the food on the ward)

Review titled Food for thought
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Staff in the clinic were most pleasant, respectful clearly in some difficult circumstances and seemed organised. However the men's toilet on the ground floor and the seated area adjacent to M&S needs some change. Disarray could be one Description.

Review titled Great teamwork and care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Judith - Posted on 10 November 2023
I went into A&E with acute coronary syndrome with some trepidation in view of the bad press the NHS has been receiving. I was impressed by the care I received, the constant monitoring, the kind attitude of staff on the ward, the good natured atmosphere among the staff. Teamwork had to be good given the number of people involved. The angiogram was carried out with expertise and precision. On the downside, there was inevitably a lot of waiting for something to happen. The food was bland but edible. I was surprised to see so many sugary drinks being offered though and would have welcomed healthier fresh salad and fruit.

Review titled Rude receptionist
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 December 2023
Echoing a previous reviewer’s experience, I found the receptionist in the A&E department to be very rude. She was extremely unsympathetic when someone in the queue nearly passed out (which is not surprising given that the check-in queue was 45 min long with no seating), and very loudly announced one person’s deeply personal medical issue so that the whole waiting room heard. I appreciate that the receptionist is not responsible for reception being generally understaffed (she was the only one on duty, which is probably why there was such a long queue), but some compassion and professionalism is needed in this role. The attitude from all other staff members and the quality of care I received were absolutely excellent, so it is a real shame that this receptionist is letting the hospital down.
