I'm simply very grateful because I saw my father being assessed by a professor while he was in the accident and emergency short-stay area, which was incredibly reassuring.

  2. Review titled Appalling practices in A & E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mike Hughes - Posted on 11 September 2023

Arrived at midnight in A & E in an ambulance with my 84 year old mother. Left in a corridor with at least 12 other patients. Many seriously ill and unattanded for hours. Staff immune to the suffering of patients and simply walk by. Nurse took blood pressure and temperature of several patients but did not wear gloves or wash hands between patients. After 6 hours we were treated. Nurse said they would give us just one antibiotic pill and we would need to return the next day for the rest. Refused to provide a prescription. After forecefully insisting on suficient tablets for at least a few days, they were unhappy but finally agreed. This is appalling. Nothing is considered from the customers' perspective. This is not about money, its about decent processes. On an individual basis the staff care but collectively it does not add up and the patient gets poor treatment.

  3. Review titled Disappointing experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Carol - Posted on 11 April 2024

Maternity. Lovely experience when in the labour ward, however once I had given birth via c-section and was on the postnatal ward I was appalled by the care I received. I couldn’t wait to get home. In immense pain, given paracetamol for the pain and asked if there was anything stronger I could have. The two doctors scoffed at me and said “we are not midwives” as if I should have known. Asked a midwife who said with a disgusted look on her face that she would have to ask the doctors as I was on the highest pain medication. Asked for any support breastfeeding and was fobbed off, and then stared at whilst my screaming baby tried to latch and then the midwife walked away. Was told to hide the formula so that I wasn’t ‘tempted’ to give it to my baby. Absolutely appalling. Last place I would want to be if I was unwell unfortunately, terrible experience for the postnatal part. Thank goodness we had a wonderful midwife throughout the experience leading up to the c-section.

  4. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Taylor - Posted on 10 July 2023

I was seen by the urology team in July for a procedure and cannot thank them enough for how well they looked after me from start to finish. I was extremely anxious as I had heard some horror stories before attending, but as soon as I spoke with a member of the team my mind was put at ease. I cannot thank the team enough for the care I was shown.

  5. Review titled Cancelled for 3rd time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 March 2023

I have had nothing but bad experiences from this hospital. Since January my liver operation has been cancelled 3 times. Twice I have been left waiting all day and now because of junior doctors strikes. I have had many operations. 3 last year in fact. Never received such bad treatment.

  8. Review titled Disgusting

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Delia - Posted on 25 January 2023

I am severely disabled and was referred to the Royal Free orthopaedics for dislocated shoulder , first visit with carer had X-ray, second visit with carer with carer they said just for x Ray, 3rd visit transport said carer wasn’t allowed disgusting. Then when I arrived they said there wasn’t anything they could do as my shoulder is too damaged. A total waste of time and a lot of stress

  9. Review titled Neglectful, rough treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2023

I was kept waiting 5 hours in A and E without painkillers with torn muscles and a broken bone. That's Mid-Staffs bad. The discharge notes were dangerously and wildly inaccurate. This hospital is not safe for A and E.

  10. Review titled The Royal Free Hospital's Maternity Services

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ozkan - Posted on 14 January 2023

This was our first baby therefore we were nervous however we always felt looked after by nurses and midwifes from beginning to end. Even though it wasn`t unusual to go past due date with the first child we didn`t want to wait long and didn`t want to have induction and the hospital let us have C-Section. I really appreciate all the hard work they`re putting into supporting pregnant women and husbands and I`ll be always grateful to all staff of labour ward, midwifes, doctors, breastfeed consultants, pediatrician and anaesthetists. Thank you for this extraordinary experience.
