  1. Review titled poor outcome

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 July 2023

I was taken from my gps surgery by ambulance with very severe back pains. The staff were all great and I had all the usual test in a and e which proved negative but the severe pain continued . A consultant said I was to have a back xray then stay in overnight for pain management and perscribed a strong painkiller but the xray department turned down his request. There was no bed - I would have to continue sitting in a chair all night and no painkiller as I had been perscribed a controlled drug which I couldn't have from a ande. I was taken home shattered and exhausted

  2. Review titled Final colonoscopy 5 year surveillance, thanks to staff.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2023

Following major surgery for bowel cancer in June 2018 I had my final surveillance colonoscopy today. Conditions under which staff work have changed considerably over these 5 years, and the "failing " tag for some departments has been given prominence in the media. I just need to say that the care and treatment to diagnose, remove my cancer, and, over the last 4 years through COVID restrictions, to keep me reassured by follow-up surveillance, has been impeccably professional. Congratulations to all staff, from consultants through various grades and specialities of nurses, and student nurses who have treated me with empathy, care and reassurance. I must acknowledge and also give credit to the way the Trust has spread its net wide to recruit staff from all over the world and how those coming to our shores have played personally such an essential role in my treatment at various points. I know the Trust and its staff have been grappling to put right long-term problems and negative feedback in some Departments; please feel reassured that in my experience your teams in Endoscopy and Surgery have been faultless in my treatment over 5 years.

  3. Review titled Sheer awful place

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Welshlass76 - Posted on 05 May 2023

Left hand doent know what right is doing or has done. Notes not up to date or completed at the time (no confidence right notes would then be made when eventually completed) One person says one thing another another. 5hrs and still treatment not received when told would be in clinic 3-4hrs. Noted handed over from previous visit and obviously not read and pushed to once side Awful shocking place

  4. Review titled Shrewsbury A&E

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 May 2023

After attending A&E I needed emergency surgery, this was dealt with swiftly, but the nursing staff were not fully qualified, and had little knowledge, a canula was inserted and used but not done correctly which left me covered in blood and a very sore hand where the plastic had vent under my skin!I take blood thinners and they were stopped before surgery when I asked the next morning they hadn’t been given to me! As directed by the surgeon! The bed sheets had blood stains on them, and the toilets were dirty, this was my first and last visit to the Shrewsbury A&E department.

  5. Review titled Ward 32 Friendly, caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 May 2023

I would like to thank everyone on ward 32 for looking after my 92 year old mum. There were so many examples of excellent care and good practice - friendly, empathy, cheerful, helpful, caring, open and honest with information , clean and tidy ward. It was not just mum, everyone in her bay received the same excellent care. The thing that could be improved and this has nothing to do with the ward staff but higher management- the food, it was tasteless. Thank you

  6. Review titled Very poor pain management at Telford hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Untreated pain patient - Posted on 15 April 2023

My GP and also the local basic pain management team director sent me here to one of your pain management anaesthetist consultants to get my pain addressed as it is too complex for basic local pain management in community to deal with and needs injections and other more direct interventional treatment rather than diet, exercise, mindfulness, etc all of which have been unsuccessful,. Problem is is that your consultant has denied me service and will not see me and has been rude by not even talking to me about my options or at all as I only found out by going to my GP and the referral assessment team who informed me of this. Disgusting behaviour from a team that should be working to treat pain rather than denying us our services we pay for as tax payers. How many other people have been denied the services like me? This needs auditing independently. Am still in severe pain with no help from anyone. Thanks for helping me, not! Shut this service down as it is not seeing or treating patients anyway so it is a complete waste of mine and other tax payers' money.

  8. Review titled Day Surgery Dept

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Edwin (Bob) Hickman - Posted on 09 November 2022

I attended day surgery on 7th Nov for angiogram & angioplasty. I was very anxious upon arrival but immediately was welcomed and calmed down by the registration nurse. This experience continued throughout the day being cared for by several staff nurses. They were all so kind and loving to me and Professional in all tasks given. This standard of care continued in the xray operation department and was touched by the care given. Finally I would like to thank most sincerely all who looked after me in Day wing. It was also pleasing to see a student nurse following in this profession for the future. Very encouraging. Thank you all so much.

  10. Review titled Cataract Surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 October 2022

My elderly mother was petrified at having this initial procedure carried out: Both the consultant and team provided outstanding support and kindness prior to, during and after my mother's surgery. I cannot thank them enough for helping her combat her fears.
