Review titled No so pleased
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 November 2024
I recently encountered a significant issue regarding the rescheduling of my Radiology appointment, which was altered without prior communication. I received a notification stating that my original appointment, scheduled for 1:55 pm, followed by a Doctor's appointment at 2:40 pm, had been changed to an 11:35 am Radiology appointment with the Doctor’s appointment remaining at 2:40 pm. This new schedule necessitates that I travel to the hospital in the morning for the Radiology appointment, return home, and then come back for the Doctor's appointment later in the day. While I appreciate the proximity of my residence to the hospital, the manner in which this scheduling change was executed is unacceptable. I contacted the antenatal reception shortly after receiving the message at 3:04 pm, and although I was informed that I was first in the queue, I remained in this position for one hour without receiving assistance, ultimately resulting in the reception closing. I would like to inquire whether this level of service aligns with the standards expected from the nhs. Furthermore, I seek to understand if there is a designated individual responsible for addressing these concerns or monitoring the feedback provided by patients. I look forward to receiving a response regarding this matter. Thank you.

Review titled Fracture clinic
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Bozhidar Arabadzhiev - Posted on 25 October 2024
On 29/09/2024 I ruptured my achilles tendon and visited Hillingdon AandE. My foot was put in a cast and referral to the fracture clinic was done. On 09/10/2024 I visited the Fracture clinic ( bear in mind this injury is not Emergency but asap, nhs protocol is to be done in 14 days) and this where my disappointment started. I was seen by very inexperienced stuff whom was asking the nurses what it should be done in my case. There was no scan of any type performed to asses the condition of my Achilles tendon. I had to beg and argue for ultrasound to be booked. After lond discussion a Urgent ultrasound was booked and I was put in cast again and sent home. Unfortunately the next day after speaking to the hospital I was informed that the Urgent ultrasound could take up to 4 weeks, what a joke. At this point I realised that this hospital can not be trust. I have removed the cast myself and booked a private ultrasound. At the ultrasound the result weren't grate as I suspected. Even in full plantaflex I still had 20mm gap between the ruptured ends of Achilles tendon. Obviously a surgery was required otherwise I would have ended being a crippled due to Nhs negligence. I had to do the surgery privately regardless that I am paying such a high National insurance contribution. Such a disappointment from this hospital. Why do we pay National insurance to be treated like animals. Unfortunately I have done the surgery as quick as possible but still 18 days pos injury. The tendon was already quite retracted and it was tough to be pulled back together which would definitely affect my overall recovery now. Unfortunately I had to do the surgery abroad as I couldn't afford the prices in Uk, and now I am recovering abroad away from my wife and kids. I don't have enough words to describe my disappointment and frustration from this Hospital and Nhs. The Achilles tendon rupture is a serious injury which could affect our mobility for life. I hope reading my review changes the treatment process and at least a proper Achilles tendon assessment in done through Ultrasound and not just left on lucky guess that will be ok to treat it Conservatively as this could be a mistake for life.

Review titled Podiatry
Rated 1 star out of 5

You are better leaving the cleaners to deal with anything podiatry. Been with them 7 months trying to fix an an issue ....ended up in hospital with many surgery procedures. They break protocol by looking at a wound and dressing it incorrectly against the wishes of me the patient the surgeon and a viability nurse. Steer clear

Review titled TIA clinic waiting area
Rated 1 star out of 5
by CAROLINE WILSON - Posted on 22 April 2024
The TIA clinic is not fit for purpose. Arrived on time with elderly mother to be told to wait in lift lobby area where there was only 1 chair. Luckily she was in a wheelchair so had somewhere to sit. Waited 25 mins. When eventually called consultant strode ahead so door closed in our face before we had time to get into stroke unit. Consultant dismissive and spoke to me rather than my elderly mother who was the patient. I had to tell him he could talk to her! The service and processes were very disappointing all round.

Review titled Amazing nicu team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Harry Hetherington - Posted on 22 March 2024
Fantastic care for our little one. The whole team from the NICU was brilliant, everyone who cared for him, I cannot thank them enough. They were not only caring for our little boy but they were also caring towards myself and my partner, explaining everything in detail so we were reassured the whole way through. I could not recommend this team enough, especially the consultant. He was fantastic and went above and beyond through our time here with our little one, you could see straight away he has an emmence passion for his job and as a first time parent and not expecting any of this to happen he put my mind at ease and I felt safe that our little one was in his and the rest of his team's care. Also cannot thank the midwives on shift enough for what they did that day, and the team who came down from the NICU unit who rushed down to help with the complications and immediately saved his life. Simply, you have changed mine and my partners lives forever and we cannot thank you enough! We will always remember you and forever be grateful for what you do. Not all heroes where capes!!

Review titled Poor practices
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I went to Hillingdon Hospital for blocked throat treatment. In the first place the doctor did not escort me to the right room. Secondly, he did not inform my GP, which is Hayes Medical Centre, about having high blood pressure. In stead, the doctor complained to my GP for visiting the hospital. My eye sight is getting blurred day by day in spite of putting a request to my GP (Hayes Medical Centre, Hayes Town) on 17 March 2023. I also have heart problems now. For the last two visits to my GP I was not seen by a doctor but a nurse. I can not put another request on patchs in spite of my best efforts. What are my options?

Review titled Unsafe and dirty
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sarah Brett - Posted on 02 January 2023
I went to A&E with severe abdominal pain. Sent through to the waiting room which was hot, cramped and dirty. Many of the plastic seats were broken or missing. Toilets were filthy with urine on the floors and discarded hospital gowns. Staff had to do medical observations throughout my stay in the waiting room with no privacy. Trolleys with ambulance patients lined up in the corridor. Finally was given intravenous fluids after 9 hours. Treatment room was overcrowded with flipdown plastic seats. Was eventually examined by a doctor after 12 hours wait in a family waiting room with glass panels that were open onto main waiting area. No examination table just a plastic chair that I had to lean back on. Eventually given pain relief and a scan. No diagnosis just sent home with pain killers. Really shocked at the poor facilities, it's no wonder in my opinion many of the staff appeared distraught. I heard every person's diagnosis in the treatment room and was horrified when the doctor asked me very personal questions about my health in the overcrowded treatment room. There were people on trolleys who needed a bedpan but had to wait for the staff to move other trolleys around to get them behind a curtain. Staff were trying their best under extremely difficult circumstances which could have, in my opinion, been improved by better management. I felt as if I had entered a hospital following a major disaster rather than a local A&E department on a week night.
