Review titled Fantastic staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ken King - Posted on 19 December 2023
I recently went into The John Snow Ward in The Royal Alexandra Hospital for a full knee replacement operation. I was in there for five days. What, for a man of my age, could have been a traumatic experience, was eased tremendously by the care, dedication, tender love, and professional attention of a wonderful group of staff. They were all fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, as they effortlessly looked after me during my operation and afterwards. Ensuring I had the best of care. The nurses here are angels in human form. Apparently, I'm not allowed to name names on a review: but the day nurses, night nurses, ward sister, student nurses, the doctors, consultants, three phyisios, the dinner ladies, and everyone else who looked after me while I was in hospital: you know who you are, and I salute you. You are the best.

Review titled Where to go
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Why can't you put a good map of the wards and clinics in the Hospital The map on line is in zones with no ward or clinic names on it put a good map on line and you would save reception a lot of work

Review titled Absolute Shambles
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a very disappointing experience at the urgent care unit. I arrived at approximately 11 pm and had to wait in the waiting area until 11 am the next morning. Throughout my time there, there was a complete lack of communication and updates. Despite my repeated inquiries, the staff provided no useful information and kept telling me that there were only three people ahead of me. This level of service was extremely frustrating and unacceptable.

Review titled The A&E Consultant Patience, and Perseverance. I thank you.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anthony Cottington - Posted on 01 June 2023
I had a mental object embedded in my leg, like a long picture nail pin over 10mm long. My doctors in London had arranged for me to go to London’s Charing Cross Hospital A&E as soon as I could get there. Which would have been the following Monday; today was Thursday. The doctor from Princess Alexandra Hospital telephoned me at work. The doctor said if I came to Princess Alexandra Hospital, they would remove the metal object embedded in my leg. I had seen the triage doctor the day before, and he recommended I see my doctors in London to get the embedded metal object removed, as I was registered with them to get a referral to hospital. The professionalism of the A&E consultant who carried out the medical procedure and his team to remove the embedded object is something for which I am personally forever grateful because the embedded object did not show up on the ultrasound but only on the X-ray. The consultant took the measurements from the x-ray and was then able to find the embedded object in my leg from the measurements of the x-ray. The medical procedure to remove the metal-encased object from my body was not easy. The A&E consultant persevered and, with the help of his team, was able to remove the metal object embedded in my leg. I am forever grateful for his time, patience, and perseverance. I thank you.

Review titled Amazing with the autistic child !
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Natalie Allen - Posted on 17 June 2023
Couldn’t praise the paediatric staff enough , they were amazing with my aggressive , non verbal autistic child. They made the situation so much easier and had a brilliant understanding of how he was feeling and they ensured that he was comfortable. They even gave him a bed to lay in so he didn’t have to be within the waiting room . They also allowed him to use the sensory room which helped a lot as he has sensory processing disorder. We were seen and at home within 2 hours and this was a Friday evening. Thank you for making it a pleasant time. All of the staff were amazing thank you

I attended A&E with my adult son who had fractured his elbow. The staff medical and non medical were all very pleasant and helpful. We were diagnosed, x rayed and treated in less than one hour. We were dreading the visit after all the recent press reports on the NHS but we were very impressed with the service we recieved. Thank you to all involved.

Rated 1 star out of 5

When calling rheumatology to change an appt that i had received, i called the number on the letter; answerphone stated person is on leave and to call 827391 to change my appt. Firstly no return date - not a major issue, however after waiting on the line for 1 hour and 24 minutes to be told they do not change rheumatology appointments.!!!!
