  1. Review titled Very friendly and efficient Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris Beal - Posted on 27 February 2024

I was admitted to the Arthur Levin Day Surgery Unit yesterday for a umbilical hernia operation. From the moment I arrived at the reception, until I was discharged in the evening, all of the staff made me feel very welcome and at ease. Every step of the procedures to be carried out were explained to me and the staff were very careful in comfirming my details whenever I was passed to other members of staff. The reception waiting area, hospital ward, toilet and other rooms were spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff need to be praised too for their thoroughness.

  2. Review titled Anaesthetists & Rudham Ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucie epton - Posted on 08 January 2024

My daughter had an MRI under GA. From start to finish the care, sensitivity and professionalism was top notch! The Anaesthetists adapted to my daughters level of understanding and eased any worries she had. I had complete confidence in leaving my most precious possession in their hands. The ward staff especially the HCA's and play specialist were friendly, engaged and on the ball. Honestly felt like we were in a well oiled machine and am so grateful for the level of service we have received. Thank you

  3. Review titled Good stuff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Went to A&E and spent 48 hours in CCU for smoke inhaltion following a house fire. Staff were friendly and proffessional, doing a great job under difficult circumstances. Slight hic-up during the discharge procedure, the ward staff went out of the way to do their best.

  5. Review titled Great

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Victor Avram - Posted on 16 January 2024

My eight-year-old daughter and I would like to thank the workers of this wonderful establishment. My daughter felt ill at three in the morning (she was burping every 15-20 minutes), we arrived at the hospital and were well received at the reception, she quickly did her job and referred us to the doctor. We were met by a very nice nurse and doctor who treated my eight-year-old daughter with care and did their job professionally and quickly. Thank you so much, you are the best in your business. It’s a pity that I don’t have the right to thank you by name. Once again, many thanks to the hospital staff

  6. Review titled Good shepherds at Christmas

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ann Smith - Posted on 28 December 2023

Directed to Same day emergency care during doctors strike. This was for possible DVT. Staff were all fantastic . So helpful, taken in a wheelchair for ultra sound, reception staff got me a high chair I had hip surgery three weeks before. The doctors came at about 2pm and worked through the patients. With the beverages and sandwiches patients were accepting of the long waits Many thanks to the thoughtfulness of management and staff it made a long day bearable

  7. Review titled An Appalling Hospital In Every Way

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 December 2023

My Father was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in November 2023 and I can only say the service received was appalling, over the 4 days he spent there we were subject to extremely rude and aggressive staff, very confused and almost incompetent medical staff and ultimately my Father was discharged prematurely, I see no point in making an official complaint as I’m sure this will be dealt with in the same manner, I am absolutely disgusted with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn.

  8. Review titled A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 November 2023

The A&E department is shocking. I thought I'd read somewhere that the A&E had funding for improvements. The waiting area is tiny making it unbearable with the many people waiting and lack of ventilation. The seats are horrendous causing me a ridiculous amount of pain, I stayed for over 5 hours before I left as people had been waiting over 10 to be seen. I understand there's a strain on the NHS but after being triaged your left to sit there with no updates,no one checks to see if anyone's condition has worsened no offer of pain relief there is water available if you want to drink from a water fountain that everyone is coughing over and one toilet for however many people are waiting.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear this was the experience you had on your visit to our A&E department. Your feedback has been passed on to the teams that look after the A&E department, who apologised for the difficult experience you had. We will continue to work hard to improve this experience and use your feedback to inform future improvements for our patients wherever possible. Currently we do have team members regularly going into the waiting room of the Emergency Department (ED) to offer pain relief and share updates as regularly as possible. We have a doorbell system in place within the ED waiting room so that if someone feels more unwell, has any queries and cannot see any of the team, they can call for help. There is also a vending machine with drinks and food available for use by those waiting. We do however recognise that the waiting room can become challenging, especially when it is busy, so we are very sorry that you had this difficult experience. If you would like to be involved by sharing your experience in more detail, to help us learn what we could do differently please get in touch. Thank you again. Charlotte Lawrence, Patient and Public Engagement Lead (charlotte.lawrence@qehkl.nhs.uk or extension number 2432).
