  1. Review titled Surgical Day Care Unit - Hernia operation

by Dean Fairweather - Posted on 03 August 2023

Just had an inguinal hernia operation done at John Coupland Hospital under local anaesthetic and from my initial consultation 3 weeks ago to the operation yesterday I can honestly say the whole team were fantastic. The team were professional but had a friendly and caring approach which put me at ease for my operation. They had the time to explain everything that was happening and I never felt rushed, they really couldn't have done more for me. The consultant was brilliant, such a skilled and efficient surgeon and a really nice chap too. I even received a follow up call from a nurse the next day to see how I was getting on after my operation! If I ever need another hernia operation in the future John Coupland Hospital will be my first choice without doubt. Thank you so much to all the team in the Surgical Day Care Unit!

  3. Review titled Compassionate & professional

    by C Holmes - Posted on 23 July 2023

I attended for an MRI and being claustrophobic, I knew this would be difficult. The appointment was with 5 days of being requested by my consultant, so no waiting for weeks which was great. The two staff who conducted the scan were extremely patient with me, constantly reassuring and very compassionate. They did everything they could to make the experience as good as possible.

I was admitted to pilgrim hosp. on30/12/2022. On 01/01/2023 a doctor examined me and said she could see no reason why I could not go home, but needed another doctor to discharge me.I was stuck on the wardfor the next 2 days blocking a much needed bed just because the nurses could not get a doctor to visit me.

  6. Review titled Sent home due to staffing

    by AntC22 - Posted on 14 November 2022

I’ve been admitted at Lincoln hospital with very strong pain due stone in the kidney. After more than 24h without food and drink (normal procedure for surgery), doctor sent me home with some pain killers saying can’t do surgery due shortness of staff. Only for me it seems, because the other day patients in my room all went to surgery…
