  1. Review titled Cannot fault the University College London Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JAER - Posted on 19 January 2024

I was recently seen in Accident and Emergency and the Ambulatory Climic for a derp vein thrombosis and bilateral Pulmonary Embolisms. The treatment I had by medical and nursing staff was second to none. Even though the junior doctors were on strike I was seen quickly and had the necessary tests promptly. I feel lucky to live close to the hospital. Thank you.

  2. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Claire Manzi - Posted on 04 January 2024

I attended a&e during he Jnr doctors strike although I would never have known had there not been informative signs everywhere. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist, triage nurse, doctors, phlebotomist and ct scanning staff were all so attentive and kind. I recently attended darent Valley Hospital in dartfort which was awful, such a contrast between the two. The swiftness and attentiveness of the staff at uclh made me feel like I was in private health care! I really felt like I mattered. Top class staff!

  3. Review titled Discharges

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 February 2024

The trust does not check that they have the right information when deciding whether to discharge a patient. A relative had their discharged delayed firstly because they said the patient lived alone, then they said no one was available at night as the person who they lived with worked nights. The is not the case as they have a partner they live with. As well as another relative who does not work and have looked after the person for over 20 years. The discharge situation should be checked with the patient on admission.

  4. Review titled Delirum patient

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2024

I witnessed my relative suffering from delirum whilst in hospital mostly in a room on her own. I spent up to 5 hours each day with her. During this time she was seeing a person in the bed opposite when there was no one there. She was seeing writing on one of the wall when there was no writing. She tried to drink from a non drinkable container. She slept a lot and was confused about time of days and why she was in hospital. She still get confused and sleep a lot since leaving. This was not happening before. I was asked to altered my previous review to what i had seen rather than yet mention about the delirum and no advice how to help her.

  5. Review titled Constant appointment changes

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Ruby noodles - Posted on 13 March 2024

Once I actually get to see the clinicians I have a very good experience with them however, my appointments are frequently being changed about on my patient portal, hence my low star rating. I will receive a new email, go onto the patient portal to check and find I have a new date/time which has replaced a previously booked appointment (for which I have made work arrangements etc) but with no notification or clarification as to why. This chopping and changing of appointments on a frequent basis is very inconvenient as I am self employed carer and can’t keep booking times/days off, getting cover for myself then finding out the appointment has been changed yet again. I tried explaining this to one admin person and they were very rude and unhelpful, literally did not want to help at all, had a very don’t give a **** attitude.

  6. Review titled Doctor attitude to patient attending A&E

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 December 2023

I was at the A&E department today with a family member and when she was taken to the assessment bay. A male doctor came into the cubicle and implied that she should not have come the department. She was in pain and her GP recommended she came following test result that pointed to a health problem. He said GPs do not do tests properly. The test was not done in the surgery and done externally. The rest of the staff was excellently.

  7. Review titled Phones unanswered

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by No response on telephone - Posted on 07 November 2023

My mother of 102 has been in AMU and the elderly care ward. It is impossible to get through on the phone. The call is either unanswered or goes through to a recorded message. Very distressing with an ill relative. It should be possible to speak at least to a nurse.

  8. Review titled Lovely doctor came to help me

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2023

I’d like to thank a lovely Doctor who could see I was struggling today on the elizabeth garret anderson wing. My 4 month old daughter has been sick and I had to take her to the Paeds ward. She was screaming for 1 hour in the ward while I was waiting to see another Dr. This one Doctor approached me to help me in the hallway when she could see I was struggling to console my daughter who needed feeding. I couldn’t make the bottle because she was inconsolable. The Dr asked me if I was okay - I cried and she told me I was doing a great job and that it’s normal to feel this way. She so kindly made my daughter’s bottle for me while I consoled her and calmed her down. Thank you so much Doctor - you know who you are. You are so kind and your support was so appreciated. We need more Doctors like you! I hope you see this review and wish you all the best.

  9. Review titled Amazing service & staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David Marsh - Posted on 13 November 2023

I had to go tropical diseases unit at university college hospital london following a trip to s. america. They were so thorough, efficient and kind. One of their reception staff took me down to the pharmacy & showed me the way to the main site, as referred by the doc I saw. I was given a clear prescription for one diagnosis & then referred to same day emergency care unit. The receptionist, volunteer & nurse there were excellent. I am.awaiting blood results prior to seeing a doc - however the doc came to me whilst waiting for the blood results coming through, just to keep me updated. The service in both units has been exemplary & sadly, in stark contrast to some other hospital experiences. If only this could be replicated throughout the national health service
