The whole team in Endoscopy dept were fantastic. The procedure was clearly explained and the care given to reassure was much appreciated. Everything was smoothly run and very professional.

  2. Review titled Quick efficient service

by Diane - Posted on 11 January 2023

I went for ultra sound on my abdomen and was in and out within 35 mins. Fabulous service and friendly staff. Added bonus was not having to pay for parking. May you continue giving this service.

  3. Review titled Professional, slick, stress free

    by Liz M - Posted on 03 November 2022

Fabulous experience today. Came for a foot operation as a day case. Everyone was lovely. Kept me informed. The whole process was professional, slick and extremely stress free. Nothing like a hospital visit at all. I even got a hot blanket to keep me warm in theatre. Well done everyone!

  4. Review titled Rather frustrated getting through

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 November 2022

Trying to get through to x Ray department. Not taking calls and no facility for leaving a message. Tried ringing main hospital number and waited to be put through to someone who could advise when to call. A voice said “are you still there” in a sarcastic tone then the phone cut off. Rather rude. Will have to travel to Ripley to get something done.

  5. Review titled Terrible Empathy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Amy Harrison - Posted on 18 December 2022

I spent three days before my miscarrige in A&E, To be treated as someone not to worry about because,I wasn't bleeding heavily and I was completely dismissed because, as I was seeing my midwife in two days time. I mentioned the pain wasn't right and ignored. I ended up In an out of hours GP the next day. I came for my scan three days later to find out I had miscarried, No pain relief or Advice, Leaflets or any aids offered to help on what to expect. Still in the dark,I phoned the midwifery department at burton hosptial, To be told they couldn't help because I was no longer pregnant. The day after I miscarried at home, I was in crippling pain. I was brought in by ambulance after losing a lot of blood, I was offered more compassion and pain relief that I had in the last few days by the paramedics. I had an Gynaecologist, Tell me to take iron tablets because of the amount of blood I lost. Now nearly a month after, I discover there is a early pregnancy ward and wondered why I wasn't send here earlier with the pain I was in. I am now going back and fourth with scans and a medically managed miscarriage to be treated with pain relief and empathy. Until 14th December, where a rude Receptionist asked for my name over the ward phones and made me explain what had happened in front of corrider full of people and she was annoyed because I had been sent to ward 30, To which she couldn't understand why I had been sent to ward 30 and transferred me to someone else without warning. This person was lovely however, I had to re explain why I was there nearly in tears at this point. To be told what I had come for couldn't be done, because I needed a scan. Knowing I had purposely made arrangements around my daughter for this day and knowing I would need a Scan I was not booked in for the appropriate treatment. I had to come back the next day and have a scan and the treatment I had planned for and have to be in pain and medicated around my daughter. While the staff in ward 30 have all been amazing with emotions and understanding what I have been through, The planning wasn't the greatest for the wednesday and the friday as I had to return as the treatment failed, but had to plan travel and childcare two hours before the ward closed, without any warning that I would have to return if it failed. The treatment and empathy I recieved from Antenatal was heartbreaking, For someone who has just lost there child, Where was the compassion, help or advice. Ward 30, Midwife, Sonographer's. Thank you for the compassion we should have received first. Burton Hospital, I feel your policy's need to change on how to deal with a miscarriage patient.
