Review titled Distinct lack of attention and care in A&E
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 August 2024
Sadly, for the second time in a matter of months, our experience of admission to A&E for my 93-year old father-in-law has been poor. Two things stand out: the first is a lack of communication and information for family members in attendance, despite a seemingly large staff presence. My wife had to make herself known at a nurses' station to get information, having been roundly ignored whilst staff discussed her father in front of her. Secondly, no-one has the apparent sense or decency to offer my father-in-law a cup of water - on both occasions, my wife had to ask. By contrast, the paramedics in attendance at the time were marvellous.

Review titled Dreadful lack of care, interest or communication.
Rated 2 stars out of 5

On a 2 week ‘fast track’ scan/ oncology. Received confirmation letter with date /time/ location. Received confirmation text. Arrived in good time, managed to find parking. Got to the location and…’computer says no’. As in the booking apparently hadn’t been listed so despite my nhs letter and texts I was told I wouldn’t be seen and then vaguely directed to ‘go across the road to outpatients’ - to see/ speak with whom exactly. Total lack of care. The least they can do is have some sort of policy when this happens but instead, for all the fancy new surroundings of the new Brighton building, can’t even look you in eye, much less offer to perhaps phone the department concerned. Nothing. Just want you to go away. No checking if you’re alright. Dreadful. Very upsetting and negligent. Always someone else’s fault, this person is away, or another can’t be reached. So how are you supposed to trust a booking even if you get all the confirmations. Playing with peoples’ health, at the patients’ cost.

Review titled Appointment
by Barry Maxted - Posted on 18 January 2024
I have tried to make an appointment online as I have been referred to Nephrology. No appointments were offered and that the waiting time is 14 weeks. I have not had any acknowledgment of my request. As someone who has been diagnosed as being Stage 4 kidney failure I am very disappointed that I cannot be offered an appointment or advice as to if I have been placed on the wait list.

Review titled Awful practice told me to never call 111
Rated 1 star out of 5

Waited for just over 4 hours just to get seen for less than a minute. The doctor didn't even touch me- he just took one glance at my swollen blue, purple and black abscesses before sending me home. I told him 111 sent me to have them looked at as they were rapidly worsening and causing me a great amount of pain. He then said 'never call 111. They'll just send you to us even if you don't need it'. Parts of my skin have literally peeled off to reveal fat deposits underneath. The wounds are constantly weeping and bleeding. I'm sick of the NHS doing this. Your doctors don't deserve better pay if you can't even organize yourselves. Anyone can look at my condition and know that I need serious help- but a doctor can't be asked to even run a single test on the infections that are clearly there. There's no point in a healthcare system that doesn't do its job.
