Review titled poor communication from some nurses
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 October 2023
We felt anxious and left uncertain at what was happening through my husbands treatment . The communication between patients and some treatment nurses needs to be kinder , more informative and explanatory.

Thank you and I am sorry this was your experience. As a Trust we promote the principles of 'Its OK to Ask' which encourages patients and carers to get involved in their care based on what is wrong with me, what do I need to do and how important is this. Staff are appraised on these expectations and the wider principles of patients being active partners in care. We are striving to improve the communication channels and more so ensuring staff are delivering compassionate and kind care. I am sorry this was not your experience and not to the standard we want for those who use our services. Thank you for taking the time to feedback and I hope your husband is feeling better. I never attend hospital thankfully but this week had occasion to visit 3 times all in one week. The treatment we had on all occasions was second to none. Efficiency and politeness all round. Well done to you all.

After being admitted to The Manor with pneumonia I was taken to Ward 3. I must say the staff all worked very hard to aid my recovery and I will be forever very thankful for what they did.

Review titled Lack of Nursing
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Barbara - Posted on 17 July 2023
Whilst attending the In Health Section of the Manor for an MRI Scan, despite on the form that pads would be given for support whlist on the "conveyor belt", none were given or offered. After the scan, being epileptic, I am sometimes unsteady on my feet, and I was having difficulty getting my croc shoes on. I pointed this out to both of the nurses and they were oblivious to my needs. I fortunately after a while succeeded in putting on my shoes and fortunately did not fall flat on my face. The uniforms were being worn, but no nursing skills were being displayed.

Review titled Delivery Suite Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Stephanie Colbourne - Posted on 27 July 2023
I delivered my first baby on 25.7.2023 and wanted to note down the exceptional care that I received from the midwives right from induction of labour through to postnatal. I would especially like to thank the outstanding delivery midwives who helped me to safely deliver my baby and did not leave my side for one moment. They were so supportive, patient and empowering that they made me believe I could do it when I didn't feel like it! I cannot fault their care, I will be eternally grateful to them for helping me bring my pride and joy into the world and it is truly an experience I will never forget.

Review titled Delivery Team magnificent at Walsall Manor hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gail Millard - Posted on 26 June 2023
After my daughter was admitted yesterday in her 26th week of pregnancy we were presented with another grand daughter. The delivery team were amazing in their care and sensitivity. They truly are angels. We as grandparents were treated exemplary and nothing was too much trouble. While my daughter was scared as this was her first baby deciding to come early, the reassurance and care was second to none. I wish I'd have had such lovely care 36 years ago. We travelled back to Wales knowing my daughter and her baby were in safe hands. Well done and many, many thanks to all the Team xx

Went for a pregnancy scan to be told I need an urgent appointment to check baby growth and I should receive a phone call within 3 days to get me booked. No call no nothing almost 2 weeks later. Communication is shocking and the amount of worry is a joke.

Review titled Needs to be more responsive
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 May 2023
Had a nuclear heart scan due to strong family history. Looked after very well from professional staff. Was told i would be called later the same day if needed to go back for other scan. I did get that call and went back following week, However i have been waiting to hear back. Results should be within 2 weeks but feel stressed out waiting for letter regarding my results. Have contacted secretary twice to chase this.... Letters need to be sent out asap

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I've had an issue with a cyst since January 2018, I addressed the problem a long while back, had a few surgeries but know I need the entire thing cutting out rather than just being drained. Attended today and I feel completely helpless, the person I saw was in no way friendly or polite, I tried explaining that I'd had the problem for 5 years but they spoke over me and made excuses the appointment was very rushed. I was made to feel like what I'm going through doesn't matter, I left in tears.. 5 years of trying to get myself back to normal to have it thrown away in an instant, I'm looking at going private, I certainly can't afford it right now.. But I'm praying someone out there will fix my issue. I've had plenty of good experiences with the hospital but I would not recommend that department due to a certain member of staff. I feel hugely let down.

Review titled Thorough and friendly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Bob A-F - Posted on 10 February 2023
I experienced uncontrollable shaking and a very high temperature. My wife phoned 111 and they advised that I went to Urgent Care at Walsall Manor Hospital. We arrived there after 23:00. Having had many tests (including temperature, blood pressure, urine and blood tests), seen many doctors and at least two departments I was advised to stay overnight (what was left of it!) in the AMU. Tests continued the following day and I was allowed home after lunch. An out-patient appointment was made for the following day for a kidney ultrasound to be done. This was found to be OK and I went home with a course of antibiotics to complete. Although all this took a lot of time I feel that everyone was very thorough, professional and friendly and that I've received a first class MOT!
