  1. Review titled Waiting time 24 hours in Ambulance for 80 year old

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Martin Penver - Posted on 28 November 2022

My mother (80 years) has a convulsion in Worcester 9am 27/11/2022. and was take in ambulance to Worcester hospital. 12 hours later whilst still in the ambulance they advised she would be better going to Redditch. At Redditch she was placed in a New queue for 8 hours. Not only that when my 82 year old dad complained after sitting in plastic chair all night, they said this is the rule. This is no way of treating anybody - let alone the frail. Shame on this Trust , you all need to do a lot better. You cant be playing ping pong with people like this..

  2. Review titled Worcestershire NHS Trust. Please answer telephone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 November 2022

Tried on a number a occasions to simply call the number on the appointments letter to confirm the appointment as requested in the letter (else the appointment may be canceled). No answer, just keeps on ringing out. Also tried the Redditch Alex switchboard, again no answer, just keeps ringing out and no email address. We know the NHS is under a lot of stress, but when communication fails there is no hope of us all !

  3. Review titled Hip Replacement Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 May 2023

I have had both hips replaced: one at Kidderminster hospital in 2021 and the other at Redditch in 2022. In both cases, I received nothing but kindness and understanding. I cannot fault the care that I received. Horror stories about hospitals abound so I think that one just has to wait and make up ones's own mind about any particular establishment. If I had to find a fault it would be that the food at Kidderminster was not particularly good but Redditch did not disappoint. I would like to thank all staff who were involved in my care: you gave me my life back. Thank you so very, very much. Good wishes to you all: you do stirling work.

  4. Review titled Disappointed

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 October 2022

This morning I came for an appointment for a bone density infusion only to be told I needed a blood test before I could have the treatment so I had to make another appointment and return home having wasted not just my time but money on car parking and petrol - 32 miles round trip. At no time did I receive proper written confirmation of the appointment or that I was expected to have had a blood test within 7 days prior to my appointment. Can I make a suggestion that when an appointment is made that a letter be sent confirming the date, time and location and include any necessary requirements prior to the appointment (as has been my experience with other departments). I have to say however, that up until today, I have received excellent NHS care following my breast cancer diagnosis but was just disappointed with this morning's outcome.

  5. Review titled Compassionate and caring team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 November 2022

I recently attended the early gynaecology unit following concerns and having no advice or guidance from my GP. After speaking with my GP practice I was very reluctant to seek any other medical advice but luckily a friend gave me the number for this department, from the first phonecall I can honestly say everyone I came into contact with were amazing; They booked me in for a scan for the next day and took the time to talk me through what had happened. I did not feel rushed or ignored and in fact felt that my feelings were validated which resulted in actually helping me move forward. I cannot thank this wonderful team enough for being kind and taking the time to reassure me at a time of need.

  7. Review titled Disconnected 111 and A & E

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Ken Russell - Posted on 28 October 2022

I rang 111. They booked me an appointment at A & E. I asked explicitly if she meant A & E, and it was confirmed. When I arrived at Worcester Royal A&E they told me they were not connected to 111 and had no,appointment system. So,how come I was offered various time slots ?

  8. Review titled Control of smoking

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Chris Ball - Posted on 21 October 2022

As a visitor or patient, I am always depressed and irritated by the first impression of the hospital. Specifically, the failure to police the smoking ban outside the entrance to the main building. May I suggest, if this is beyond the capability of the Hospital Management with which to deal, the "No Smoking" signs are simply removed? This will, at least, give the impression that such a simple request is not beyond the Hospital to manage?

  9. Review titled Pediatric A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 October 2022

Very poor experience. Sat for over an hour without seeing anyone then nurse tells us to go for X-ray. Now waiting another hour. My advice to triage nurse is not to say, "only one in front of you. You'll be seen shortly". 3 1/2 hours later at 1130pm we've still not been seen.

  10. Review titled AEC Unit is a great addition to Worcester

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 September 2022

A&E was crowded, impersonal and unpleasant to be in when you feel unwell. Being transferred to the AEC Unit was very re-assuring with great staff. Thanks AEC 😊
