  2. Review titled Excellent Ophthalmology Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by David - Posted on 11 January 2023

Excellent service from all in the Ophthalmology team last Friday. Kind and caring as you would expect but also super efficient and very well organised. This was my first experience of Ophthalmology at Worcester and it was very impressive, way better than I've experienced at hospitals in other parts of the country. And it wasn't just the medical care, it was everything. There was no waiting for hours or "you'll need to come back for that" or the feel of inefficiency and waste of time and resources that I have experienced elsewhere. This is how the NHS should be. Very well done to all the team in the Aconbury suite.

  3. Review titled A and E department Shocking!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 December 2022

Shocking shocking A and E department ! Complete lack of care Over 24 hours no beds Not enough nurses or doctors to provide care needed Unfortunately a family member with autism was very ill and needed to attend the hospital for help and care Left in a cold corridor Medical treatment was not fully provided as recommended by a doctor due to lack of staff . No bed available. Had a Shocking experience . For many hours left with a empty fluid bag that was expected to hold this themselves in their hand in the corridor. No dignity of care was told had a bed after 16 hours to be told 5 mins later the bed had been given to someone else . This hospital is not providing a safe duty of care .Patients lives are at risk .

  4. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Godwin - Posted on 13 December 2022

Parking straight forward, environment clean including toilet facilities. Staff in X Ray level one polite, went in on time, radiographer was so nice she introduced herself, explained how the Dexa scan worked and put me at ease. Sign posting into the hospital was good and inside it was easy to follow. Thank you all

  5. Review titled Thank You A&E staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anya Colley - Posted on 19 December 2022

Just wanted to say a big thanks to the staff at Worcester A&E that treated me on 17.12.22. I walked in with a dislocated shoulder (which was very painful) I got seen to quickly, the nurse was lovely & wanted the fastest service for me to get my shoulder back in to place quickly. The xray staff were also very polite. Once my xrays were back I was straight into a room back with the nurse who popped my shoulder back in nicely. It must be such a hard job and just wanted to say how much its appreciated what you all do, so Thank you :)

  6. Review titled Insensitive literature and botched procedure instructions

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Carolyn Evans - Posted on 28 November 2022

My husband Martyn Evans has recently undergone several endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Thankfully no signs of cancer, but various lesser challenges have been successfully addressed. As symptoms returned in August 2022, he was referred for another procedure, which has now been completed with a similarly reassuring result. Two issues which occurred during this have concerned me. (1) Insensitive literature. As my husband’s symptoms had been occurring for some time, he was put on the “Two Week Wait” Pathway, for which we were extremely grateful and which led to the procedure taking place quickly. However – he was sent the relevant leaflet (What-p1-0272 – “The Two Week Wait Bowel Cancer Telephone Assessment Pathway”. This made me extremely angry and upset….. As far as we are aware, my husband does not have cancer and was not expecting the procedure to find any such result, after several previous events. Nonetheless this could have been a possibility and so we were concerned until the procedure was over. Receiving a leaflet which intimates this is a cancer pathway is extremely distressing, especially if we had been seriously concerned. Imagine a patient being in this procedure or pathway receiving this leaflet (perhaps for the first time) and thinking that they definitely had cancer. The leaflet should have replaced the words “Bowel Cancer” with less upsetting/controversial ones, such as “Colonic Investigations” or perhaps “Bowel Issues” – anything which doesn’t’ throw the word 'cancer' in someone’s face when they will already be worried about it. I must stress that we are massively grateful for the fast service which resulted from being on the pathway under current Nhs restrictions, but as the daughter of a cancer survivor I’ve seen many such leaflets, and they require sensitive nomenclature and wording – not this very blunt instrument. Please reassure me that this will be reviewed urgently. (2) Careless preparation instructions. I also need to add that my husband had to endure the procedure twice in quick succession as his bowel prep (medication and full clearance) was not complete on the first occasion. He was given the medicine “PlenVu” and a less restrictive preparation programme (less days on a low residue diet). The second (successful) attempt involved Moviprep and a longer period (4 days) of low residue consumption, and my husband was advised that this was due to shortages of Moviprep in the first instance. I understand such matters, but the dietary advice was also insufficient and caused him considerable distress. Please ensure that more care is taken when an obviously less effective medicine is used. As ever, our sincere thanks go to all Nhs practitioners involved in this procedure. I wish only to help the service improve.

  7. Review titled Huge thanks

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Hardman - Posted on 02 November 2022

I would like to thank all the staff in the a&e who without doubt saved my life after I’d self presented with chest pains and subsequently had a cardiac arrest in a&e. My care, emergency angioplasty and subsequent care in Aconbury 2 has been great. Please thank all involved.

  8. Review titled Kidderminster MIU

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2022

Had to use this service twice this last year for minor complaints (muscle injury and insect stuck in ear) both times have been meet by friendly staff, conditions treated with good clinical care. Waiting time and triage was explained at start. Very good community service to have in the area and saved having to attend A&E’s or GP.

  10. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah Tucker - Posted on 18 November 2022

I wanted to let you know that we have recently received outstanding service from The Alex in Redditch. We took my son there after he dislocated his shooulder on Sunday 6th November. He was seen quickly in A&E and the staff were all lovely. We've been seen twice in fracture clinic and again the service has been excellent. Both times we have been seen quickly and we were even able to see a physio today to begin rehab. I would highly recommend your Trust and I would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped my son.
