  1. Review titled Outstanding performance

Rated 4 stars out of 5

The paramedic arrived at 1600 having been diverted to a priority incident in York. He dressed the wound and gave details of follow up procedures. Took blood pressure and other statistics throughout his stay. Gave a written statement of what to do to in the following days. In all he was with us for over 2 hours and bis service was exemplary. Please give him recognition for the outstanding service he provided.

  2. Review titled Superb standard of care under difficult circumstances.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Hayley M - Posted on 28 June 2024

We attended the A&E dept. under difficult circumstances in the 5 day juniors doctors strike and despite the hospital being complete packed in the A&E dept, every single member of staff , doctors and nurses were fantastic , though rushed off their feet . The standard of care was really high. Doctors and nurses kept us informed of the waits continually with huge apologies and even provided food and drinks. The doctor we saw went above and beyond running thorough tests and both he and the nurses were lovely . The whole hospital department should be really proud of how they managed a really difficult time . We were treated with professionalism , dignity, and a lovely warm caring concern from every single member of the team who dealt with us and i hope someone from the a&e dept. sees this and feeds back . You should be really proud. And thank you .

  3. Review titled Brilliant experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My 1 year old son came in for a Mcug in the xray department, bearing in mind they don’t usually do them on children over 6 months unless absolutely necessary. I just wanted to say that everyone was so helpful and informative. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the care your son received in the X-Ray Department. It is heartening to know you were both treated with such kindness and encouragement during your appointment. Our staff work hard to ensure their patients receive the highest standard of care, and we appreciate your positive remarks about the treatment you received from the entire clinical team involved in your sons care. I have passed on your comments to the staff involved, which I am sure they will be very pleased to read. Thank you for taking the time to write to us to express your gratitude. We value and appreciate feedback from our patients and relatives and thank you once again for sharing your experience with me.

  4. Review titled Great A&E care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 11 February 2023

I am writing to express my thanks with the treatment I received at York’s A&E department on Saturday 4th February 2023. I arrived about noon, supported by my wife, with head injuries resulting from a cycle crash. I found the professionalism and care from all members of the team whether registration, MRI/X-ray scans to the doctors and nurses who treated me was exceptional. This distressing experience for both myself and my wife was mitigated by this care so many thanks. One simple example was that one of the senior nurses brought a cup of tea for my wife which was really appreciated. Another was the follow up call from the doctor who primarily looked after me that evening.

  5. Review titled The pinnacle of professionalism within healthcare.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Matthew Croker - Posted on 06 January 2023

I don't have much experience with York Hospitals, and I do hear from other people that York Trust is a poor trust, but I can honestly say that I've never been as impressed with a team as I was today whilst waiting for my Neurology outpatient appointment. I saw a team that was under immense workload pressure. However, the professionalism, respect and compassion shown towards visiting patients to this busy department was exemplary. The consultant even apologised for my wait, even though I've waited longer in a checkout line at the local supermarket than I did for him to see me. In my opinion, I was grateful to be seeing a healthcare professional at the peak of their career (i.e. a consultant) and to have interacted with a multitude of healthcare professionals working in such a hostile, demanding and emotionally exhausting environment. Volunteers taking time to help patients find places, healthcare professionals stopping what they're doing to help a struggling patient complete a form and reassurance to patients nervous of confused during their visit are all things I witnessed during my 30mins of arriving and leaving my neurology outpatient appointment. Honestly, my words are not enough to express my admiration to this department for what I experienced. I don't know if this is a standard achieved by all teams within York Trust Hospitals, but I know - if you're visiting Neurology - you won't find a better team.
