My mother was a resident of Gingercroft from February 2013 until her death in November 2023, aged 99. The building is not the height of luxury but the atmosphere is warm and homely. She received exemplary care and compassion and often said how lucky she was to be there. The staff are mostly local, so the turnover is low compared with other care homes. My mother formed good personal relationships with the staff and other residents and found companionship she would have lacked living on in her own home. Local doctors visit on a regular basis.
