My mother joined the care home in April of this with advanced dementia after two extended periods in hospital with delirium leading to paranoia and delusions. She took a while to settle in but the home was very kind and gradually helped all of us including her relatives to feel perfectly at home. All the residents are well cared for; the food is of good quality and plentiful; there are some activities though maybe a few more would be of use or someone whose sole job is to be the activities manager may be a good idea but having said that there are some activities available. There are two lounges available both with televisions and there is also a conservatory where there are tables and chairs where the clients have their meals. Clients are encouraged to stay awake during the day and socialise which is quite difficult for some. There is a high staff:client ratio allowing plenty of time for the more needy clients. As a family member I am very grateful to Herewards House for taking her in and we look forward to working with you in the future.
