Mum was nearly 95 and very frail she had an aortic aneurism and dementia she was admitted to Longview care home as she was not coping well at home even with us going in and carers she a was having a lot of falls we were dreading her going and didn't think she would settle as she always said she didn't want to go into a care home - how wrong were we - she settled within a week was treated well as if she were family - she thought she was on a cruise as she had her own room and had to go to a dining room for her meals - mum was loosing her sight and had a cochlear implant as she was deaf - this was taken into consideration - when asked mum told me she was being looked after well the staff were lovely, she had her meals every day & in her words her room was very nice the bedding was even like hers at home (we took it in for her) Mum had been having falls prior to going in there and we were worried she was not eating we didn't want to put mum into a care home but we had to as this was the best for her, our worries were taken off our shoulders she only had 2 falls while in there the doctor attended both times - the staff in Longfield were loving and caring to all the residents - mum was was 94 and we thought she would live forever - mum passed away a week ago she passed very peacefully in her sleep - which is what she wanted - I can only say that I am so thankful that she was in Longview they made her last week's full of love and laughter do not be afraid if your loved ones go here they are vere professional and caring I cannot praise them enough x August 2023
