I have experienced almost twelve years of health issues complicating my life and those around me. Alcohol, Anxiety, Depression and ADHD have all been clinically diagnosed. Navigating life's day to day hurdles amplify a negative low mood with a noticeable rise in self isolation along with increased and unmanageable use of alcohol to attempt to soften those feelings of helplessness. In other words I've been self medicating at dangerous levels of alcohol to function. As a business owner, married man and father, son, brother and friend my health has impacted greatly on my appreciation of my life and love and has deeply affected all of those around me. I was desperate for a solution to recover my inner self and rediscover my meaning and the positivity and joy for life I once thrived on. At Nest Health Care, I found a way! The initiative care and attention to individual needs to help to break this cycle poor self care is treated with compassion and professionalism along with the simplicity of caring from all the members of staff and therapists alike. Importantly to note, this is my sixth residential attempt to find methods and techniques to cope with clinical symptoms alongside the alcoholism. I have discovered new ways to incorporate methods and techniques to find happiness and a level of contentment I thought I had lost. The practice of meditation and mindfulness, coupled with understandable psychotherapy and treatments including Thai massage and acupuncture may sound far to simple to manage such complex issues. It's not! They listen here, provide a pleasant, comfortable environment to live and practice these life skills to enhance a feeling of calm and control whilst appreciating living in the moment and the beauty of life around each and every one of us regardless of education, financial and social status. I'm a stubborn individual but what I discovered here is I have a choice and now I have experienced these processes and techniques I can confidently say for the first time in many years, I feel positivity and peace, mindful peace, easily practiced and accessed with a practicality that works with simplicity anytime and anywhere. This experience at the Nest has also given me the opportunity and skills to open up to others, lose my fears of others opinions provided I be the best person I can, kind and thoughtful. It is here to take, the only provision is I work at what has been given me. After this experience the answer for me is very clear, I want to work at it. Mark.
