My mum received an enabling package to assess care needs. 1/2 an hour lunch time visit. Unfortunately I am only able to visit twice a week. Last visit 3 days ago came to mums to find a sink full of washing up and a bin overflowing with rubbish. The ‘carers’ walk past the outside bin when they exit the property. I know 1/2 an hour visit isn’t long but is it too much to ask for for someone to wash up. My mum has Alzheimer’s and I have been battling for ages to get her some support and feel totally let down. I hope that our experience is not a reflection of the home care industry. All I ask is for someone to treat my mum the way they would hope their mum or gran would be treated.

Nexus team have been looking after my Mother in Law for 3 years. The team has been utterly brilliant. Caring, thoughtful, trustworthy, compassionate to name but few of the skill set the carers themselves possess. I can not thank the team enough for their continued efforts whilst caring for my Mother in Law herself. Apart from her being 97 years of age, she was suffering from dementia and had been profoundly deaf for most of her life. The team were simply wonderful and always going that extra mile to ensure she was safe and looked after before they left. I feel indebted to them all, as living so far away enabled us as a family to have that little piece of mind knowing my Mother in Law was being cared for properly, safely and with her best interests at the forefront of the Nexus teams hearts. Thank you to you all for everything.
