Treal carers have been attending my father for the past 3 months. My father has a terminal illness and his situation is further complicated because he is a born-deaf sign language user. Because of this communication barrier to his care my husband and I have moved in with him to offer support and constant access to communication. The male carers (about 8 regular faces) have been incredibly caring and kind. They have gone above and beyond their duty by also being supportive of me as I care for my dad. They give me tips, share skill techniques, ask questions about my dad, and are genuinely interested in him as a person and are not just there to get the job done. They have voluntarily started picking up sign language as they have got to know Dad and its made a huge difference in a very difficult situation. I can honestly say that once my dad passes, as well as the enormous pain of losing such an amazing man, I will also miss his wonderful carers! Forever Grateful.
