Review titled originally very good then in the last two weeks things changed for the worse

at the beginning the girls were wonderful. really caring and took the time to get to know mum, her likes, her dislikes and her offbeat sense of humour. for a very independent woman of 96 this was essential for her to get to like the carers and get to know them as they were dealing with very intimate care. mum grew to love the girls and look forward to their visits and have a laugh with them. they kept her upbeat and her sense of independence intact. then suddenly the management team changed her carers. by this time mum had become totally dependent on the care given. suddenly she was faced with total strangers wanting to clean her intimate areas. she was spoken to as though she was senile which she definitely wasn't. her body had given up but her mind was still very sharp. she said she felt like a piece of meat at other times as though she was a baby. all very offensive to her. she became frightened of them coming and would start to shake and cry out when they were caring for her (if that was what you could call it) i felt totally helpless as i wasn't able to do this for her. at this point she gave up living and started to die. she refused all food and drink and within two weeks she was dead. i know her body was dying but truly feel that had woodfield not changed her carers she would have lived another couple of weeks and they would have been happier ones not the terrifying experience it became. like i said the original carers were absolutely brilliant and caring. i guess it is pot luck on which group of carers you got

The fantastic carers gave my husband so much care and support (also my daughter and I) I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in his care.
