Review titled Impressed
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Julie - Posted on 18 August 2024
Arrived at 08.10 and seen by 08.30. The male nurse checked my back as I had a fall down stone steps. He was very methodical and knowledgeable. He advised on medication and how to deal with my painful back. I felt extremely reassured. Thankyou NHS.

Review titled Poor information around timings
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 July 2024
After checking the opening times, and finishing a very long day of work and feeding my children I arrived at 19:30 with my son after not being able to secure a GP appointment, only to be told that no more patients were being looked after as they had filled their quota. there was one patient in the waiting area and granted, possibly other patients being treated in the clinical area. I appreciate the need for a cut off point and this is not likely predictable, but there is no information on the website that this would be the case, a warning would be good to expect. I had to travel by bus and in the rain. I was then told to call 111 to try to secure an out of hours GP appointment, at this point my son and I were the only people in the room. eventually a nurse came out and asked the receptionist if we were the OOH GP patients to which she said Thank God as it was just after 8pm. I didn't want to be there as much as she didn't want to work late. the OOH GP receptionist then came to me with a piece of paper to manually enter me in to the booking system (while I was on hold to 111) and around 30 minutes later a doctor called us in and ended up prescribing some much needed anti biotics. a lot of unnecessary angst for something that was very simple. More information is required online in the first instance as I would have made a judgment call on methods and timing. the whole process took 3.5 hours

Hello, Thank you for providing feedback from your recent visit to the Ashford Walk in Centre. I am very sorry to hear of your experience and your son’s. Our opening and closing hours are 08:00am - 20:00pm, however, there are times when the department reaches capacity before 20:00pm, due to high attendances from patients. This is also noted on our CSH website. When this happens, patients are informed by the receptionist, that they may not receive treatment, giving patients the option to return the following day. The majority of patients that arrive after we are at capacity choose to be booked in and are then streamed (brief assessment). The nurse will then stream the patient, and if deemed safe to wait will be asked in most cases, to return to us the following day. However, if the patient requires further medical attention the same day, they will either: 1) Be treated by the WiC. 2) Asked to call 111. 3) Attend the Urgent Treatment Centre. 4) Make a GP appointment. In cases of an emergency, the WiC will continue to provide treatment until such time further support has arrived, such as an ambulance. I apologise that this seems to have not happened in your son’s case, and please be assured that I have fed this back to our staff. If there is anything further, I can do to support your feedback, then please don’t hesitate to contact our Patient Experience team, whereby I can look into this further. Please email: Csh.patientexperience@nhs.net Kind Regards, Tina Willis, Service Manager for NWS Walk in Centre's

Review titled Very bad experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ellie - Posted on 11 September 2024
I went there with a second-degree burn. The nurse started fumbling through drawers, completely confused, as she was pulling out lots of consumables and then placing them back. All she did was asking me if I smoke, then put water on my blister and popped it, which is completely unadvisable by all plastic surgeons and doctors. The wound was left exposed and raw. I asked if she was going to put an ointment with antibiotic, she said ´´see your GP´´ in 48 hours. The result was that it went from bad to worse, as the blister should not be popped, and sulfadiazine should be applied. Complete waste of time, two months after my burn is still not completely healed, due to the fact that the skin was popped instead of preserved. Incompetent staff.

Review titled Efficient and friendly
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gill Whitney - Posted on 28 February 2024
Visited with my husband (78) after he fell down some stairs. Arrived 6pm. Very friendly and sympathetic receptionist. Called in around 7pm, sent round to x-ray. No waiting. Called back in to see nurse about 7.40. Again, she was sympathetic, efficient, answered all questions clearly and helpfully, provided sling and advised she was referring him onto fracture clinic at St. Peters. Excellent in every way. We feel very lucky to have NHS.

Review titled Reception not private
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2023
Despite the privacy screens installed at the reception area, people in the queue and waiting area can still hear everything. Staff at reception insisted it was private and asked me to speak louder. It is not possible to maintain confidentiality of patient information with the reception area as set up currently. Need a separate room.

Review titled Kind and professional treatment despite the pressures
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had to have dressings done on Saturday and Sunday. I was nervous and my wound is painful. Despite being so very busy both nurses were very kind and reassuring. I had reacted to previous dressings and they both took time to find more comfortable ones. I’m very impressed and grateful.

I brought my daughter in as she needed some help. The very helpful lady on reception was so very patient and kind, I am very grateful to her. My daughter was very reassured after seeing an excellent nurse, and the wait wasn't really very long despite it being a busy day with many people waiting. Thank you all very very much, your hard work and care is very much appreciated.

Review titled Nightmare !!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Gazanfar ali syed - Posted on 14 June 2023
Had a terrible experience starting from receptionist to the nurse, you won't find any "Worst example more inhuman treatment". there's absolutely no words to describe the services here, all staff need training revised and get reminded about there role. receptionist have accumulated long queue which she doesn't have to, took an hour just to get registered. she is more focused on her timed walk in between. " please don't use understaff excuse " with this manpower they can deliver much better. I'm not sure if this review will get noticed by the management and any steps would be taken.

Review titled Excellent clinic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emma Abdel-halim - Posted on 22 January 2023
Arrived at 07.55 was welcomed by friendly and helpful staff. Received excellent prompt and professional healthcare. Better than any private health care. Arrived home at 09.05 after getting an x-ray and assessment. Even if I had to wait for many hours understandably my feedback would not change. Thank you for taking good care of my injured knee
