    Not easy to use untrained reception staff to deal with your problems I had a receptionist who didn’t want to help me at all this is a rubbish system

    I visited the GP practice on 14/09/2022 and due to traffic on the roads, arrived 1 minute before my appointment. I approached the reception and told them "I'm just on time, please can I check in?". The lady on reception pointed me to the check in tablet and when I was logging in, I overheard her say to her colleague "by on time, she obviously means late..." in a very snarky tone. This comment obviously wasn't meant to be overhead but I found this extremely offensive and unprofessional given I wasn't late, I was 1 minute early for my appointment. This receptionist realised I had overheard her and immediately went into damage control by being overly polite which was just as insulting. Not only did I have a disappointing experience from the reception (which I find all too common these days), but my appointment itself was unpleasant. I was in for a recommended blood test which have just started back up again after being outsourced to the hospital. The lady taking my blood was incredibly unsociable and did not even say hello or any of the common courtesies you would expect. I had questions about the test, having never had my blood taken before, and she was very unreceptive to these, merely commenting how my veins were non-existent before pricking at me repeatedly with a needle with no explanations. Bedside manner and common manners do not seem to be a priority at Balmore Park and I left the practice feeling very disheartened. Manners are free and I shan't be rushing back to the practice.
