  2. Review titled Excellent practice under difficult conditions

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James Goss - Posted on 26 August 2024

I suffered a broken ankle whilst out fell walking. Tipped up to the walk in centre and was triaged ,x ray taken, diagnosed , fitted with a temporary cast and released within 4 hours. The staff were all very efficient and friendly There was a constant stream of mothers and babies and various adults. Special mention to the receptionist, the lady was friendly efficient and humorous. The Para Medic was excellent, super efficient and arranged my fracture clinic appointment prior to my leaving. The care assistant that fitted the back slab was really friendly and got me sorted in minutes. Can’t thank the team enough. .

  3. Review titled Rude and don’t listen

Rated 1 star out of 5

I felt uncomfortable and upset as a parent and treated like a child myself after leaving Blackpool walking centre. They don’t listen to parents and the quicker they can get you out the room the better, no care for parents or the children. The doctor was rude and basically told me I was wasting their time with my daughter. They don’t make eye contact with you when talking to them. They have to remember these are our children and we love and care for them so they should be reassuring parents not fobbing us off. I understand they are busy and stretched to the max at the minute but no need for rudeness and sending a sick 4 year old away home with its mum being told am wasting their time

  5. Review titled Horrible Practice, Rude Doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 November 2023

Receptionists have always been very kind. Nurses have been great. However, Went to the urgent treatment center on a weekend as a pregnant woman very worried about pelvic pain that radiates from front to back. I did not get any empathy from the doctor. He was very much in a hurry. All he checked were my obs and he had me stand to look at my back with my winter jacket on - like how would this help? Even someone with the sharpest clinical eye could not assess a patient this way. It's as if he is trying to make it look like he is giving a solution but really isn't. I wasn't born this morning and I am a nurse so I am not naive in how proper assessment is done. I wasn't getting the answers that I needed so I tried to ask him a question but he brushed me off saying that he doesn't have time to answer questions and he said he is very much in a hurry. Like really? Is this how you would address a pregnant woman with pelvic pain who has a question about it? He was very rude. Nothing was done about my problem, no referrals, no proper assessment, I swear if anything happens in my pregnancy, this appointment will be reported. Generally, NHS workers are good and skillful. But people/doctors like him are the disgrace of the NHS. I wish no patient in dire need of care would unluckily fall under his care. I felt like I totally wasted my time this morning, having gone there so early only to be treated like this. His care today does not deserve the taxes I've been paying for.

  7. Review titled Over a 4 hour wait

Rated 1 star out of 5

Reception staff, I have never spoken to the rudest pig ignorant self opinionated reception staff, all you get from these after a rediculas wait to see a doctor or nurse, I took a person there, in lots of pain, told me to go and buy some pain killers, or go to the hospital and wait there, not the answer I was looking for, I will be writing to the director of this site, it's the only way to get a sensible response!!!!, Because, if you read any of the reviews on here, you'll see that they never respond to any criticism.

  8. Review titled Staff are just amazing and so caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Fenton - Posted on 02 September 2023

Having used the walk-in centre to get my wound redressed on a daily basis for three weeks, I cannot praise the staff here enough. They work under so much pressure as it is always busy, but every nurse and the receptionists have been just amazing, courteous and so caring. So a huge Thankyou to each and everyone of you for making my daily visit so nice and taking the stress out of it.
