    I have attended Boston House on numerous appointments both for myself and with my mum. The service provided is usually very good. Today I attended another eye appointment with my mum, who is 97 and has Alzheimers. Mum had travelled by ambulance as she was in hospital following surgery for a fractured hip. We received a good service during the appointment itself, as we have done previously. On this occasion we were at Boston House for over 4 hours as we had a long wait for the ambulance (over 3 hours) to take mum back to hospital. I’d like to thank the staff today for their great service, and hope it is ok to say a huge thank you to the 3 staff who took her eye test, did her scan and the lady on reception (sorry the review won’t allow me to name them) who went above and beyond. Your kindness was much appreciated. Thanks again

    Recently diagnosed with macular degeneration and was told I needed to have injections (scary) have had my second injection today and obviously more to come. I cannot praise the staff in this department enough from the reception to the clinical teams, they are amazing they are so nice and caring putting you at ease explaining every step of the procedure as they go, I was obviously very anxious at the thought of having an injection in my eye, cause let’s be honest it hurts when an eyelash gets in there! The first injection was slightly uncomfortable but no pain at all and staff again I have to say wonderful team, the second injection I was surprised that there was no discomfort no pain and again thanks to the wonderful team carrying out this procedure, I no longer feel anxious about the need to continue with this treatment and can only hope that it is successful. Thank you to the consultant and to my optician for his quick referral after which I got an appointment within a week and started my treatment the day of my appointment.

    I was referred into this unit and received an appointment within 10 days. The entire team from reception to nurses and consultants - were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I was given a follow up appointment to discuss eye injections and provided a treatment plan, which was scheduled a week later. Once I arrived for the follow up and was explained my treatment plan; the treatment commenced on the same day. As I had not had treatment here before, the receptionist kindly escorted me to where I needed to go. The team clearly explained everything to me and made to feel welcome and relaxed. I had my treatment and had left - all within 20 mins! Absolutely thrilled about this efficiency! I have had numerous injections elsewhere over the years but never had this level of care, even when compared to the private sector. Very grateful to be having treatment with this team - I feel like I am in great hands!

    I was sent appointment Reminder: 19 Feb 2023 at ALw Adults Dn Wigan District Nurse Treatment Room' with no contact number or address. I got directions from staff at main Hospital but I was late for my appointment. The nurse was very rude when turning me away! She refused to listen to any explanations and would not give me any info as to what steps to take. She rudely said 'Its not my fault and I am not a receptionist.' .... I was not happy that a qualified nurse would spend 5min being rude to a patient when she had the option to simply supply a contact number for me to phone for a new appointment. I am not going back to that place because I am not sure if such an attitude is good for my after care following surgery
