    I attended Bourn Hall Clinic for a fertility check. The nurse completing the scan and bloods was lovely, very informative and friendly. However the specialist doctor provided a very poor consultation. During our consultation, IVF was continuously pushed. When I expressed my preference not proceed with IVF she became visible annoyed and began discussing how I must have a financial problem and to go to my GP for IVF. When I tried to explain again that I do not want to proceed with IVF and asked for other options available. She advised I need to book another appointment to discuss treatment options. Once I said no to IVF, the doctor became uninterested in the consultation and would not provide treatment options, only IVF. She then began to push a supplement which the clinic sells. When I asked what is the scientific support on this supplement, she shrugged her shoulders. It was also quite clear she did not review my scans prior to the consultation, and was going to push IVF regardless of the consultation. I do understand IVF may be necessary but I am not mentally ready to pursue that path and feel a capable consultant would understand this and be able to provide a worthwhile consultation. I would highly recommend not attending Bourn Hall Clinic Colchester. I would advise any new patients seeking a fertility clinic, take your time to research. Now I need to start from scratch with a new clinic, paying for repeat scans etc.
