  1. Review titled Poor Record Transfer Experience After GP Switch

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Dimitrios Vogiatzis - Posted on 21 March 2025

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Central Milton Keynes Medical Centre. After being referred by this practice to a clinic for some important tests, I moved to a new area and registered with a different general practice. Before making this change, I contacted the practice in February to check whether switching would affect my access to the results. I was clearly told it wouldn’t be an issue, as all my records would be available via the nhs system and automatically accessible by my new practice. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be the case. I attended the clinic for the tests on 7 March, and the results were sent to Central Milton Keynes Medical Centre on 14 March. When I contacted my new practice, they couldn’t find the results in the system. I called Central Milton Keynes medical centre three separate times to try and resolve the issue. Each time involved long waiting times and being passed between staff. Eventually, I was told that since I am no longer registered as a patient, they had deleted my records and could not help me. I was also told that even if they receive the results, they would simply be discarded because I am no longer with them. This is unacceptable and completely contradicts the advice I was given when I first asked about changing practices. What made this worse was the unhelpful and dismissive attitude I encountered during these calls. I was treated with a lack of empathy and professionalism, which only added to an already stressful situation. I hope these interactions were recorded, as they fell far below the standards I would expect from a healthcare service. Changing practice should not block a patient from accessing their own medical records or test results—especially when they were told this would not be a problem. I have now had to escalate the matter to nhs england just to access essential health information, which has caused me unnecessary stress and delay. I sincerely hope the practice takes this as an opportunity to reflect on how they support patients in transition and how staff engage with people seeking help. A little more care and accountability would go a long way.

  2. Review titled On Time Appointment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came in for a blood test and was seen on time and the nurse involved came across as kind, caring and efficient. She even agreed to take extra blood for a test I knew was due but wasn’t on the list and said she would check this with my practice GP so that I didn’t have to book another appointment. Thank you
