    A bit disapointed to be honest !! They are, as other posts say really lovely people there. However on the day for my first eye. They had to find another surgeon due to sickness. The young guy that did my surgery on 12th March 2024 exclaimed to his colleague that 'using the new lens folder makes things easier' Indicating that he perhaps e hadn't use it much before. Consequently I had lines/creases in my left eye replacement lens (iol), from the lens folder, that left me with massive diagonal light glares and blurred and ghosting vision. I have had the right eye done and my vision in that eye is crystal clear. The left eye that had the lines is now more blurry with ghosting that is worse than the cateract. I contacted CHEC this week 14/10/24 and asked to see an eye doctor about my ongoing left eye problem, to be told I have to go right back to the opticians for a new referral ! I was very much hoping that they would see me to put right what I feel they by accident messed up. I can't be bothered with Specsavers, so I will see if my GP will refer me to the Opthalmology Department at my local hospital to see of they will put it right for me !

    From entering the front door to leaving, the team at basingstoke are extremely attentive and helpful. The surgery was amazingly quick and painless. Great teamwork from the receptionist to the surgeon and everyone in between. Looking forward to my return to get the other eye done.

    My newly opened CHEC facility didn’t have any available appointments (no-one to operate the equipment) so I chose to go to the Basingstoke location. From the moment we walked through the doors the staff were very friendly and helpful, offering tea or coffee and biscuits! Everything was explained clearly and everyone was very reassuring about the procedure - which only took moments. I will be returning soon for the same procedure on my other eye.     I recently took my grandad to CHEC for his second cataract operation after coming to the practice 6 weeks before for his first cataract appointment. The service he received from the whole team was absolutely fantastic, he was welcomed on the door with a lovely smile and comfort with an offer for tea or coffee and some biscuits. He then met the doctor who was truly exceptional and professional in the service provided. My grandad actually said they made him feel more at ease and relaxed about his operation. Every step of the service my grandad had exceptional, and I cannot recommend the practice enough. They apologised to us for being slightly late with his operation, but they really didn’t need to as we both saw how busy they were during our time at the practice. Fantastic experience, and all the team should be applauded for their conduct and professionalism throughout.

    I had a consultation soon after my optician requested it and then the procedure was very soon after that. One day later and I think my eye is recovering well. My thanks to all concerned.

    From the first visit to surgery yesterday everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The surgeon and his team were so professional and certainly went the extra mile to explain very clearly the whole procedure and I wasn't at all nervous. My grateful thanks to all at CHEC .     Today was really helpful and kind. we were well looked after and refreshments were much appreciated. Thank you We are veru grateful for Mum's cataract operation. Just one suggestion - eye test equipment for the initial tests was difficult because of Mums height and reduced mobility. I wonder if there are any adaptions, changes of the height of the table which could be made?
