Review titled Friendly & Efficient
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hana Riley - Posted on 04 October 2024
After being referred from 111, I was expecting a lengthy wait and to be told they were unable to help. I was very wrong! I was in and out within an hour. I was greeted by 2 lovely receptionists that were helpful and kind. The doctor I saw was fantastic. As I am not from the area, he took the time to explain where I could best collect my prescribed medication from. The whole experience was efficient and I have nothing but praise and thanks for the whole team that I saw.

My teenage son hurt his foot , he was tearful and worried he fractured a toe - F O M O for sports and birthday parties! I called reception at 7 am and was told 3 hr wait , called back 9 =same, again at midday and told it was better. Got there at 3, immediately seen by polite receptionist and sent to triage in under 10 minutes. Triage nurse friendly and in 10 minutes got details from us , offered pain relief and got a wheelchair. We wheeled around to UTC and waited for 15-20 minutes then saw an ENP S who was lovely . Then sent to xray which was back the way we came where we only waited 5 minutes before very nice radiographer came to get us . X-ray confirmed a fracture - back to S the ENP saw us straight away for a support sole and plan. All in all excellent! The higgledy piggledy layout of ad hoc hospital meant back and forth but most importantly staff lovely and seen quickly and got out quickly. So very much better than 2 years ago . I was nervous going back after a previous visit - scarred from when we spent 4 hrs 9 pm on - waiting for an xray on a 5 yr old on a packed children’s a and e with tired parents and screaming siblings and nothing happening in any order and no staff. Ruined everyone’s night and next day off school and work because of tiredness( we both work in nhs and it was disheartening and caused us to have to cancel pts too!) Really glad that improvements have been made. This was a good example of nhs minor injury care going well. Test needed were organised quickly . Minimum time spent waiting for input. If walk-in minor injury unit in bognor had been open would have gone there -as casualty really should be for the big stuff … but it’s Monday to Friday only ….. Hopefully that will also improve one day. Well done and Thankyou to the team we saw today
