Review titled Extremely bad
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Andrew - Posted on 03 June 2024
Visited today with my moth who has a cut to her head which needs glue I informed them of my 90 year old mothers other conditions and mine being diabetic over 3 hours waiting we could not Waite any longer twice I had informed the receptionist who went and informed the lead nurse and still no service. I am fuming at the sheer lack of any type of urgency or care absolutely disgusting. I will now hopefully get my mother seen to tomorrow luckily I have enough skill to prevent any further damage.

Attended with a laceration to my arm. The MIU was clearly very busy but all members of staff were friendly, approachable and compassionate. Feeling very thankful and grateful to the wonderful staff here who always provide a high level of care under such great pressure.

Review titled Useless

Needed drugs for a swollen jaw since it was the weekend no one was available. All I needed was a prescription and told it wasn’t their problem and was given a phone number as if that could solve anything.Like that would make drug’s magically appear. Absolutely useless! God help anyone that genuinely needs them.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had a negative experience after attending the Cumberland UTC. Unfortunately, we are a nurse led service and some presentations such as dental pain are outside our scope of practice. You were sign posted to a service that would have assisted you on the day. I hope you are feeling better soon and thank you again for leaving your feedback. Kind regards Nigel Booth RN NMPI Matron/ENP Cumberland UTC/ ED Minors/ Tavistock & South Hams MIUs

First time I’ve had to use this service due to an ankle injury. Brought lots of snacks as expected a long wait but triage, x-Ray and seeing someone was really quick and efficient. All staff were lovely and really helpful. Thank you!

Friendly and professional staff. I felt comfortable and was assessed, x rayed and treated quickly and efficiently. I am not someone who has ever really left feedback but I really thought that on this occasion I should. Thank you.

The receptionist booked me in and told me it’s was at least a 5.5 hour wait basically did I need to be there when I went into triage I was told i probably won’t get another X-ray baring in mind my swelling and bruising is 10x worse then it was before I was seen a week ago i couldn’t move my hand properly and had pins and needles but apparently that’s normal and the arm had been knocked again after my fall would not recommend this place!

Review titled Fantastic Service and Great Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul Burton - Posted on 31 May 2023
I visited yesterday at 0800 and I was extremely impressed with the whole experience. There were abot 5 people waiting outside before they opened and we were all quickly registered by the reception staff once it opened. Within 5 mins I was seen for triage and 10 min later by a nurse practitioner who also consulted another nurse. I was treated throughout very proffesionally by some extremely helpful staff, given medication and a call back appointment. I can't recommend the facility and staff highly enough. Thank you.

An amazing security man greeted me as I waited for my husband to park the car. I was wobbly on my crutches! He said he would fetch a wheelchair for me for which I was more than grateful. In reception I was greeted by friendly face who said you rang earlier I've been expecting you. That made me feel very welcome . Following this I was seen by an HCA,who was most thorough in her assessment ,treatment and advice . She explained what to expect at fracture clinic. I was made to feel I mattered and individual, not just a number passing through.

Review titled Thank heaven for The Cumberland.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Christine Treharne - Posted on 23 April 2023
Ver positive experience at The Cumberland this morning. I arrived at 8.40a.m., with a very painful foot. I was treated courteously and didn't wait long before seeing the triage nurse who took my observations and an account of my reasons for my visiting the centre. After another short wait, I was seen and examined by another practitioner. She gave me a thorough examination and was very helpful and reassuring. I was out by 9.45a.m. This is a great resource for Plymouth and long may it continue! (Only negative comment -the lighting in the Ladies makes you look like death warmed up!!)

Thank you Christine for you lovely comment. The team pride themselves on giving wonderful care, and feedback such as yours will be greatly appreciated. I will pass on your comments to the relevant staff who treated you. With regards to the lighting in the public toilets, unfortunately this is deemed necessary for a particular reason. Myself and the team wish you well and hope that you have a speedy recovery from your injury. Kind regards Nigel Booth Matron, Cumberland UTC
