I found the practice very caring and useful. The PPG event for exercise and wellbeing explained well and very useful for daily routine. The staff are brilliant. Very helpful, warm heart and always respond to needs.

  4. Review titled Absolutely faultless: can't praise them enough

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Vicki - Posted on 18 July 2022

I was triage'd and xrayed within 20 mins of arriving and the nurse who took care of my issue was welcoming, efficient and really reassuring. I was there for about 3 hours in total but didn't feel that was at all excessive and can completely understand the wait. I honestly can't praise the place or its staff highly enough and I hope they are aware of how appreciated they are. Genuine thanks.

  5. Review titled Waste of time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Joanne Wheatley - Posted on 21 July 2022

It was my son not myself. Does not have GP as only recently moved to Plymouth from Torbay. In chronic pain with his right leg. Cannot sit/stand for any length of time. Went to Cumberland Centre on advice of 111. Was given time of 1400 which is an arrival time not an appointment time apparently and was told 4 hour waiting. Fair enough but when he said he could not sit/stand for that time he was told tough snd when he asked if he could lie somewhere as that is the only position he can tolerate the pain in he was told no - if you cannot sit you’ll have to stand snd why didn’t he go to his GP? When he explained his situation their answer was ‘ not my problem’ . What a wonderful caring NHS not!! Absolutely appalling service.

Dear Joanne Thank you for taking the time to highlight your experience at the UTC Cumberland. I can confirm that the timings given by NHS 111 are arrival times and not appointment times, and I am sorry if this was not explained during your telephone consultation. The urgent treatment centre is a walk-in facility and is therefore unable to offer patients the option of lying down to wait for review. In regard to the welcome you received in the UTC, I was sadden to read your description of the manner in which your son was addressed. I would ask that he contacts our Patient Advice and Liaison Service so that we can investigate further. PALS can be contacted on 01752 439884 or by email at plh-tr.PALS@nhs.net With best wishes to your son Louise Huntley Quality & Operational Lead for the Emergency Department

  6. Review titled Rude and Late for Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 July 2022

We attended here for a wound check with a specific appointment time after being sent here by a consultant at Derriford. We were made to wait an hour beyond our appointment time and when we were called in the advanced nurse practitioner shouted the name so loudly it made us jump and she was extremely rude and made us feel as though we shouldn’t been there despite being sent there by someone far more senior and more qualified than her. This is in complete contrast to the wonderful service we received at the Derriford ED where they helped and reassured us, it really is no wonder that Derriford is so busy when the way you are treated at the Cumberland Centre is a disgrace and would never ever go back again by choice that’s for sure. Avoid!
